I stayed inside today
And to keep boredom at bay
I snuggled in bed
Proclaiming myself a sleepy head
As I read my new book,
The snow outside slipped away
As I declared a reading holiday
Satisfied with my new book,
Nestled in my little reading nookThe world slipped away
And I began to play
With the idea,
Come what may,
That given the choice between the two
I would love to stay
In the world of inkA place where my head could lay
Maybe in a magical meadow that could shrink
So I could keep it for a rainy day,
A day when I feel like I haven't slept a wink
The grass would sparkle and sway
Calling me to lie down and to sink
Into the soft earth, not caring either way
