Charles couldn't believe his ears. Everything seemed mute as he comprehended it. The wind blew, but still, his eyes were fixed on Lucy, wide and unbelieving. For a moment, he thought she was telling the truth. But he remembered that her father was still alive and kicking. He laughed nervously, ashamed that he actually believed her and said, "W-what are you talking about Lucy? You're father's--"

"Dead." Charles was taken aback. He wanted to believe in her, but it just wasn't possible. He remembered calling her father last night and telling him about the plan, to which he agreed to. Charles tried to reason with himself that Lucy was just kidding around, like her usual self. But no, her voice was serious, and though Lucy said it bluntly, he could make out the hurt in her voice. After all, he was with Lucy for five whole years. There was nothing Lucy could've hid from Charles after all the time they spent, right?

"L-Lucy, I-I-I don't understand what you're trying to imply." Charles felt the chills all of a sudden. Why? Well, this is death we're talking about! What if the man whom he was talking to was actually a ghost? No, no, no! That couldn't be possible! Ghosts don't exist! It's a doctor's pride to rely on facts and only on facts. Things like ghosts are not facts! Though he believes in life after death, he doesn't believe that some of them stay on earth to hunt people. I mean, who would!? This is getting bloody crazy.

"You must have misunderstood." Lucy finally answered. The air was tense and terrifying. It almost seemd like a ghost was truly there. But... misunderstood what? "It is true that George and Anna are married, but..."

"George isn't my father."
