I shifted uncomfortably on the couch. Military was stood on the table. Beside me and on the other couch was Anton, Cornelius, Luffy and two other people I don't know yet. We were all in our human form, except Mlitary since she probably doesn't have one.
"I'm just going to cut the chase... Callin was killed." Military said with a coughing voice. A shiver went down my spine, of course, I have to dig myself out of this. A murmur of gasps and soft sadness spread amongst us. I forced myself to tear up a slight bit, unlike Luff who was eyeballing at the struck of a bad heart.
"Who could've done this?" One of the unknown people said angered. I looked down with a sniffling nose. Though this was a rather annoying thing to do. Still, I wish I had remembered the entrance thing because he wouldn't have been killed then, I hope anyways.
After everyone calmed down a bit, except Luffy.
"Hey, Jeremy were you close to Callin?" One of the unknowns said I looked up at him.
"Not really but he's the person I actually kinda liked and It feels as if I only brought misfortune here," I said with a quiet tone. He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out but a huff of comfort.
"I'm Rheon by the way." He said with a forced smile. I shifted my eyes to face him better, he had a reddish curly hair almost like Callin's.
"What's going on?" A voice said from ontop the stairs, I looked back to face them, another person I don't know yet.
"Icarey?" Rheon scoffed, my eyes widened. This guy killed the former Torment king? He looks average in a sense but like all protagonists average but inside a real prick and on the battlefield the toughest around.
"Callin got killed." Military said softly beside him, Icarey's eyes instantly darted to me, he had a foul expression. I gulped down a nervous feeling.
"I doubt It would be him." Military said looking my way. Icarey tch-ed and walked down the stairs. I watched him go down, halfway I glanced back at Military. Her eyes shot a bullet of the atmosphere through my nerves. I could see the yellow in her eyes even through the mask. Our eyes kept in uncomfortable contact for a few moments, but they felt longer than they were.
"Has someone looked in his office?" Rheon asked Military broke the chain and looked at him.
"No, Icarey and Jeremy can go look." Military said it felt as if a bug bit me in every joint in my spine. I looked at Icarey, he also had a foul expression.
"Okay," Icarey said walking up the stairs again. I bfollowed. luntly
"What are all these papers?" Icarey said bending down to pick one up, my eyes rested on Jeremy Fourie. After conducting blood extraction and DNA matching.
Results: Torment Leader
True
I walked closer and grabbed it reading the rest of the results. Nothing important really, just the title. I squinted my eyes and looked at the few other papers.
"With this Callin deserved to die," Icarey said gripping the paper until his fingers torn through. He gritted his teeth so loud I could hear it. He let go of the paper and looked at me. His eyes wandered down to the paper. Instantly they widened. Without trying to figure what he saw I turned into my fox and sprinted away. Naturally, my mask appeared as well. He hesitated at first before turning as well and found his way behind me. Before I could remotely get away he slid in front of me. I tried to twist around but head-butted me, I instantly tumbled to the ground. I cursed and looked up at him. I noticed that I, Military and now Icarey all have Japanese styled masks. Does that mean anything?
I hope so. I stood and sprung onto him. My weight wasn't enough to subdue him though. He shifted to his back legs, making him taller since he got some long legs. I fell off and splattered to the ground. I looked up at him, he stared at me with the lust for blood in his eyes, even through the mask. A shock crawled down my spine and it stopped my leg. It pulled on my control, latching on and tear it to shreds. Quickly, I couldn't control my back paws anymore.I tried as hard as I can to let the shock disappear but it continued nipping away my control. Icarey opened his jaw and edged to my neck. I tried moving but two things kept me back. I'm going to die, here today. But I don't want to die. Not yet, I may not have a lot of people left I like but there are my friends, my Mom, my Uncle, everyone special to me, heck Rheon is kinda cool. I don't want to die, not again. What? Stop it! Who are you? Stop him now. I can't! You can. No! Stop, leave me alone. My, My. Stop!
My body rolled around faced his bare teeth. My paws swept up and pushed his jaw into the wall. His teeth dug into the wall, I released my paw and jumped to the other wall. He snarled in pain and looked at me, his eyes twitched in surprise. I was actually stood on the wall.
"I'll give a composition. Say nothing, you don't get demolished by me and Torment." I said, shooting a serious dart to his eyes.
"As if." Icarey laughed, I twisted and landed on his back, making him tumble down onto the ground. I sprung away. He stood up and looked at me. A part of my mask cracked and fell to the ground. Icarey stared for a moment, a small piece of my mask fell off again.
"Yes whatever," Icarey said stomping his one paw, a sinister smile played on my face. He bit his lip and turned walking back to the office. I fell to the ground, compelled by gravity. The pieces of the mask in my paws crumbled to dust. I could but only see that the half of the mask shot out a wrap that covered my eye. I could only faintly see through it. The same happened over my mouth and pushed onto my skin so hard it began to hurt. I could feel something sharp poke me in the ear on;y a moment before lacerating through it. I yelled through the piece in front of my mask, it filtered the sound. After the pain subdued the parts retracted and restored the rest of the mask. I felt as if my body fell into a bed in relief. I stood up, feeling control sweeping through my whole body. I shook my body to let the dust fall off. I speedily jogged into the office again.
