What I've seen happening a lot is no sense of time.
The main character wakes up at 7.00 am and dresses up and suddenly it's 12.00 pm and they're late for no fucking reason. Apparently they take 5 hours to get dressed. And most of the time, authors don't describe what happened in those few hours. Why was she late?
Or when 2 characters who know each other for like 2 weeks fall in love instantly. It takes time to fall in love. What 2 characters are feeling as what you describe as "Being in Love" is having a crush, which does not always include romantic feelings.
