Anyways from what I understand, Killer was dealing a very depression and he found out one of the way for the pain to go away is by letting Killer!Chara to control him. In the end, the pain was gone but... something's off. There was more dust than usual... he went searching for his friends but as expected, no one came... This finally made him 'BREAK' and turn into what he is now.
Chara : Woah, that's a cool plot.
Onie : Combined with the determination of a human and the magic of a monster... he became one of the strongest Sans out there.
Nick : Huh? At what ranking?
Onie : I would say at least top 50.
A.K. : Agreed.
