Cameryn
"Well...dealing with these sinkholes kind of requires knowing where they came from" Joeri commented. He had come back after running off from Darrien and his Dad's fight. He's such a scaredy-cat!
"right! And how are we supposed to work that out?" I replied annoyed. Serena looked up.
"when did they start again?"
"a couple of weeks after the new year started remember?" Darrien answered "Cameryn and Joeri had been trying to help out with rebuilding"
"which isn't going very well by the way" Joeri added. I glared at him.
"stay on topic Joeri. Something is definitely wrong in Taro I thought it might something to do with the crystal but it hasn't been happening anywhere else"Serena started to look around, she didn't seem nervous but...curious.
"what's up?" I asked
"yeah, you haven't stopped looking around we arrived." Darrien commented. She looked back towards me.
"Cameryn, you're an earth element, have you noticed that the earth element magic here seems out of balance?"
"you know one of the Earth elements in town said that...hang on...how can you tell?"
"don't know...might be because I'm Spirit"
"I don't think that works" Joeri replied. I looked over to Darrien.
"what do you think?"
"huh?" he asked."have you been paying attention?"
"of course...I just zoned out for a sec. what did you ask Cameryn?"
"what do you think about the origin of the sinkholes?" Darrien stopped and thought about it.
"well..." he stopped for another minute and I got annoyed
"well? Well what?" I pushed. He looked up at me.
"give me a sec!"
"you've been thinking about it for longer than that! If you don't have idea tell us so we can move on"
"it's not that-"
"then what is it?" I asked angrily. He rubbed his forehead with the palm of his hand "well?"
"look! I just -I can't think! I need some fresh air!" Darrien stood up and walked to the door "you guys keep talking it over. I'll be back in a couple of minutes" then he left."what's up with Crazy kid over there?" I asked, Serena sighed
"I don't know. He's been really quiet and seems kind of stressed, actually he's been like since you guys visited on my birthday" I stopped and looked at Joeri. I think we were both thinking the same thing.
"he's probably tired" Joeri lied "how long does he stay up?"
"you're right" Serena laughed "he does need more sleep"
I glanced off outside as Darrien stood out there resting against a post.
I think it's more than that. Joeri and I should be more careful where we talk...Darrien
I was outside Cameryn's house taking a breather. My mind was in complete chaos and I had enough to worry about.
this part of town was so quiet. Cameryn's street always was but it was even more so now.I looked off to the end of the street. There was a pretty messed up building that I recognised as the council chambers where the fire started.
All around I saw parts of houses ruined and some that were still being rebuilt. The repairs were mainly taking place on the other side of town near the Augur tower. We're a pretty small town so I could see it from here.I turned around. I was about ready to go back inside. I'm kind of glad that I have a memory blank about what happened after the fire started...I don't want to remember what happened...what I did...
as I moved to open the door I looked over to the stone well just outside of the house...there were fearsome scorch marks on it...I leant down to see if I could wash it off but as soon as I got closer-Fire everywhere...people screaming...Water elements trying to douse the flames but failing...
A girl standing in front of a house and in front of a man...he wasn't moving...
"stay away!" she cried. I smiled.
"make me" a few steps closer... a blast of fire...the girl managed to avoid it instead it hit a well behind her.
"please! Just stay away!"
