What Did She Say?

Peter's POV

I was walking down the hallway with Ned when I saw Y/N with that guy Todd again. She was cutely giggling at something he said when she looked up at me and did a little wave. He followed her glance and saw me, he waved with a smile too. I had no choice but to wave back. Though I did try to direct the wave and smile more at Y/N than Todd.

Todd and Y/N had been spending a lot of time together recently and it was beginning to make me worry. "Were they dating? Does she not want to be friends anymore? Was it my fault?" So many thoughts swirled my head I didn't even hear Ned talking to me.

"Peter? Dude?" Ned said as he put his hand on my shoulder "are you alright?"

Still looking at Y/N going down the hallway, I meekly responded "yeah I'm fine."

"Really? Because you've been staring at Y/N for the past 5 minutes," Ned responded.

"What? No I was actually looking at... at the..." I scanned the hallway looking for something, anything else I could've possibly been interested in. And then it clicked. "Michelle, I was looking at Michelle." As soon as the words left my mouth I knew this was going to be a long ride.

"Michelle?" Ned looked past me to look at her with a confused look on his face. "Are you into her? Because I thought you liked Y/N?"

"Dude!" I whisper shouted as I pulled Ned from the hallway around the corner where we couldn't be seen. "Shhhhhhh!"

(At this moment Ned and I were talking about to different people, I talking about Y/N and Ned thinking I was talking about Michelle)

"So you do like her?" Ned asked trying to process the information as he was still confused.

"Yes alright I do, I really like her and I have since she got here," I said admitting defeat.

"Woah," Ned said as if he had made a scientific discovery "I had no idea, I always thought you two were just friends."

"Well I mean I thought you knew? I mean I guess I thought it was a lot more obvious," I said now I being the confused one.

"Are you kidding? I would've never known if you hadn't told me!" Ned exclaimed a little too loudly.

"Dude!!" I whisper shouted again, "you have to keep your voice down! Someone's going to hear!"

"Oh I see you're worried..." Ned started to say but he was cut off by Michelle who came around the corner.

"Sup losers," she said coming to a halt in front of us. "Was I interrupting your nerdy make out session?"

"No, were just talking," I said rolling my eyes at the comment. Just then Y/N rounded the corner.

"Hey guys!" She said perkily waving to everyone.

"Hey Y/N," the three of us said almost simultaneously with someone dragging at the end.

"How are you guys? I feel like I haven't talked to you, Peter in forever!" She said with her cute smile.

"Well you know what I just remembered I have some homework to catch up on so I'm going to go work on that, you two have fun talking," Ned said slowly backing away. "Y/N care to join me?"

I gave Ned a look of what are you doing as I wanted to talk to Y/N because she was right, we hadn't been able to talk in a while.

"Oh no I wanted to talk to Peter actually, catch up on some stuff," she said still with that god damn adorable smile.

Ned, still looking confused at me mouthed "what?" To me.

I almost face planted myself right there but then that would really blow it.

"Actually I have some work I need to catch up on too, can I join you Ned?" Michelle asked taking steps toward him and giving me a wink as she passed me. "Of course she knows," I thought to myself.

Michelle took Ned by the hand, Ned still confused ont the situation, and left down the hall.

"So," Y/N said said awkwardly shrugging a bit.

"So," I laughed a bit. "How have you been? I agree we don't talk enough."

"I'm good! And yeah it really sucks we don't talk as much anymore." She said and then quickly, after getting an idea responded to her own statements with "oh are you free this weekend? Because this really cute coffee shop just opened up next door the the bookstore across from my appartement and I've been wanting to check it out."

"Yeah I'm free that sounds like fun!" I said eagerly.

"Sounds good! So it's a date!" Y/N said cheerily. With that and a smile she turned around and headed down the same hall as Michelle and Ned.

I stood still staring at where she used to be standing, red faced and blushing.

"Did she say, date?"
