Chapter: 14 Further We Go

I woke to the sound of scratching, someone's nails gliding against the hard grey rocks, I unzipped the tent and got out to inspect what the sound was coming from, I went further into the  cave, where the rocks were piled up, I held tight to  my flashlight in my left hand and  took a peek through the rocks, before I could even see anything something spit in my hand from below, it tore through my flesh, revealing my bones  I screamed for help but nothing came out, I staggered on to my feet still unable to say anything, I felt a heavy weight upon me, but I saw nothing at all, for some reason water flowed through me, I felt powerful, I stood up and searched the room, I could see better, I wanted to kill whoever spit on me, I want it dead, I want to torture it, I gained my voice back, I was fine except my finger, which healed by itself after a short time, but I will find who ever done this to me, "I'll kill you" I laughed "Bloodlust" John said from behind, I sprinted towards him and jumped on him "Yes, yes it is, bloodlust" I said frightining him, "Hm, youre faster than I expected, faster than your father" I grew feriouse "What about my father" I growled "We worked together in the lab, creating new creatures and things in order to get the soward" he explained I put  my hands around his throat, my nails peircing the back of his neck "Stop, your eyes are red and your nails are very long, it's just a phase" he stuttered, I got off of him, went into the tent and looked at my self in the miror, my eyes were red, my hair grew up to my hips and my nails, two inches long "What the fuck, who are you" Aren screamed "I'm Zay idiot and I don't know what's happening" I explained "Oh, well, youre going through a phase, it's  when youve had your powers for more than a year, you grow a bit older and stronger, but you never die" he said taking off my glasses "You won't need these, your eye sight has improved, and your wounds heal faster" I took off my bandage on my face "Beatiful" Aren smiled, I turned around, "Weirdo" I smiled, "Should I cut my nails" I asked him "No, you can kill with em, and while cutting or scratching who ever, you can freeze them" he smiled "ooh, I like that" I giggled.

John explained about my father, he died while creating something, John doesn't quite remember but he said that the thing he was making woke up for some reason and killed him, "cut his head off" he said "after that I burnt the lab and the thing" he continued, "I'm so sorry" I opolagised " it's ok, it's my fault, I should have told you" he scratched his head, "Psst, Zay" Réa whispered I came over to her "Look at this comic book I've got" she said pointing to it, I took a closer look and fell to my knees "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, DON'T SHOW ME THAT STUFF!" I screamed "Relax boy, I thought you'd like it" she giggled "I'd rather burn it" I said glaring at the book "No, it's mine" she yelled "If you don't want me burning it, then help the twins take down the rocks and wake the others" I commanded she obeyed as I said, I went into the tent, grabbed the sisors and cut all my hair, till it was really short "No, what are you doing why" Aren said coming in "Shut up, it's none of your business" I said cutting the last piece of hair off, "Come on kids, let's go" John commanded  "And I expect a 'Yes Sir' from everyone" he shouted "YES SIR" everyone screamed back.

We marched to the rocks, the twins, and Rea helped clear our path, "Your eyes are blue" Rea exclaimed "Yes, there are 2 to 4 phases to go through till her form is completed, and each phase she'll look different" John explained as we walked further and further, I walked ahead of them, I felt powerful and strong, Iris was sitting on my shoulder, I saw her eyes glowing red "What's wrong" I asked her, not out loud, we can read each other's mind, "I'm going through the phase like you" She said as she drank water from her paw.

Aren started to walk ahead of me, we walked slowly this time, John said he could hear noises from up ahead "Hey Zay" Aren said "Yeah?" I questioned "I love you," He said giving me a peck on the head "Thanks" I replied, "Is that all?" He pouted, I pecked him on the lips "There" I said looking away, he ran ahead of us, this time out of sight, to my horror I heard him scream, I ran to him, his face was gone, all I saw was acid eating away the rest "HE'S IMMORTAL RIGHT" I screamed at John, he shook his head "No, Aren, don't leave alone, please stay with me" I started to tear up "It's ok, just kill the bastard for me" He stuttered trying his best to speak but failing misrabily "It was too soon" John said,  "YOU KNEW HE'D DIE" I screamed "Why...why didn't you save him" I cried "I knew he'd die in the cave, but I didn't know when" He explained "Fuck you, John, I'm out of here" I said "So you aren't gonna kill the bastard" He asked tempting me "I will, I will kill all  demon's on earth" I said, Someone gasped "She's floating above the ground, her eyes are red, she's crazy"  But I ignored them, I stared  blankly  at Aren, my love, he's gone, the only person I trusted is dead, it's cold without him...I feel lonely, but nothing else, I envy the dead, I always had, but just when I saw Aren, I thought he'd forever be with me, by my side,  now I have nothing at all. I saw a bird flying to me, Aren's bird, I took him and held him in my hand as he died slowly, when a pet's owner dies then the pet itself-does too, I placed the bird next to Aren, kissed him a goodbye kiss, and continued walking except this time, I was all the way in the back.
