Terrified | Untamed

I had probably just got done raking my fingers through my hair for the millionth time this hour. Everything was ready, except for me. If this date didn't go right then I wouldn't know what to do with myself. What happened tonight may predict the fate and future of Layla and I's relationship. If it goes good then I have nothing to worry about, but if it goes to hell then I would have no idea if Layla would still go for a guy like me. So my plan tonight was to make everything run smoothly.

After mentally debating with myself if I was ready or not I checked myself out one last time and finally left my place. I locked my door behind me and made my way down towards Layla's apartment. You were probably wondering why we just didn't get ready together. It was because she said that she didn't want to get her makeup everywhere in my bathroom, but honestly I just wanted to surprise her when we see each other. Once I knocked there was no answer, but when I knocked again I heard footsteps coming towards the door. And then I was breathless.

She looked stunning—and that was probably an understatement because she looked absolutely breathtaking. A white fitted dress hugged her body sinfully as it stopped down to her knees. Her curly hair was pulled and slicked back out of her beautiful face. She looked so phenomenal and I couldn't help but to stare. Layla is my woman, that reminder alone gives me more motivation to make sure that I keep her away from the hands of others. This is the reason why I have to keep her all to myself. And this is why I have to love her harder.

No one really spoke at first. It was mostly just endless staring. Honestly, I really didn't know what to say because I was so speechless. I'm also surprised that she hadn't said anything provocative yet, because I noticed that she will do that if the air feels a little tense but she hasn't. Sad to say that it felt a little awkward but I'm hoping that will just wash over and we'll act normal around each other. It was our official first date and who knows what will happen. But I'm praying that it all goes well for us two.

"You look amazing," I compliment, feeling my heart beat out of my chest as I took her hand in my own.

"I do?" She asked timidly as she lost eye contact with me. I have never seen this side of her before, what's the matter?

"Of course you do," I assured just in case she feels a little nervous, and I couldn't blame her because I felt a little nervous as well.

"Well..thanks," she murmured walking forward and closing her door behind her with her other hand.

"Is everything alright love?" I ask her worriedly.

She breathed deeply, "It's just that..I don't think I'm ready for this and—,"

"Of course you're ready. There's nothing to be worried about," I say speaking.

She dropped her head low, "I know Harry but I—,"

"Come on darling, you're coming with me," I wrap my arm around her waist and walk us to the elevator. All she needed was some reassurance, everything was going to be fine.

As a gentleman, I opened the car door for her and closed it before I jogged over to the driver's side. I started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot.

"What kind of music do you wanna listen to?" I ask after a few moments of silence between us. "It's gonna be a long ride."

"Where are we going exactly?" She asked dodging my question.

"It's a surprise," I tell her grinning from ear to ear. "Trust me, you're gonna love it Layla."

She didn't say anything after that. Instead she changed the track on the CD to drown the silence. Maybe this was her way of expressing how nervous she was? It's okay. Hopefully her attitude will change once she sees what I have in store for not only her, but us.
