Chapter 28: Live long and suffer

The surgery had been a success, something Bellamy would call the closest thing they've had to a miracle. It has been 2 days and Enyo hasnt woken up once since she was dosed with the anesthesia, which Abby assured was because her body needed the rest from the trauma. Meanwhile, all of the remaining delinquents were discharged from medical and Bellamy made sure they all had their own rooms in the ark, as well as making sure they got more portions of rations due to how frail some of them looked. They mainly stuck with eachother, some reuniting with their families, while the ones who hadn't sticking to the only family they had since being on the ground.

Abby had sent out search teams to look for Clarke once Bellamy told her she'd gone, all of which returned without the blonde. Bellamy didnt bother going with them, he didnt want to leave Enyo's side for too long and if she woke up he wanted to make sure she wasnt alone. Not that she was, her grandfather Rick never leaving medical either. Everytime Bellamy went to check on his people, Rick would stay with her and be in the exact same place when the older Blake returned. Lincoln had assured Abby and Kane that the bulky grounder could be trusted, that he had every right to be by Enyo's side until she's better.
They hadnt spoken, Rick staying completely silent as if he was lost in thought and Bellamy couldn't think of anything to say so they both sat on either side of the redhead in silence.

Flashback
"Ste yuj, strikon." Be strong little one. 15 year old Enyo murmurs to her 7 year old brother in their cabin, the eldest sibling adjusting her armour as the Trikru army prepares to leave for war. Lincoln kisses Abrahams forhead and pats his head softly.
"Remember what we told you?" Lincoln asks him, standing up and placing his own weapons onto his armour.
Abraham nods quickly. "When i want food, go to the other mothers and eat with them. Dont let anyone know when im afraid, remember to not go to school unless i want to kill bunnies and dont leave the village."

Enyo crouches down to her younger brother, smiling and cups his face. "And when you get scared remember we're coming back for you."
Abrahams eyes show the terror that he's been trying to hide. "How do you know you wont die?"
"Because we have you to fight for." Enyo replies and Lincoln touches her shoulder to let her know that the Trikru army is ready to leave.
Lincoln hugs Abraham goodbye. "I'll bring her back. I promise. Take care of yourself and remember that if you are to leave the village go with an adult." He reminds their boy because they both know he will.

Enyo stays behind, doesnt know how to say goodbyes but luckily Abraham asks. "What will happen to me if you two die? Moms gone."
Gripping his hands and kissing them in her still crouched position, she looks up at her baby brother. "You'll survive that's what you'll do. You will live a life that you want for yourself, screw what everyone else expects. You werent meant for war, Abe."
Abraham wraps his miniature arms around her neck and squeezed as tightly as he could. His strength has improved since she started to train him. It made her all the more proud to call him hers.
"If i die will you do the same?" Abraham says into her neck, his tears wetting her skin there.
Enyo kisses his cheek and pulls away so she can see his face. "I wont need to, I'll die before you do. And im not planning on going anywhere."
Abraham pouts at her answer, puffing as his aurburn hair falls into his eyes with how long its grown. "You can't promise something like that. Death is inevitable."

Ignoring his reply, she nuzzles her nose against his which always makes him smile.
Pushing her away, he whines. "Im not a child."
Rolling her eyes she grins at him, standing up and walking towards the door. "Actually you are, you're 7."
Her smug grin always annoys him, he sticks his tongue out at her as he goes to his room to mend some clothes to distract himself from the fact that his sister is going to war yet again. She watches him go and then shuts the door, walking to the troops of other warriors as she goes to battle side by side with them, as she's done before, determined to return for him so he wouldn't have to grow up alone.
