Daylight rose and I slowly opened my eyes. I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes. 'The start of my first official day as the Akatsuki's maid...this should be interesting.' I think to myself, getting out of bed and opening my door. I didn't exactly want to clean up after a bunch of mindless, merciless heathens...but it didn't seem like I had a choice. I sighed and stepped carefully down the hallway, careful not to wake anyone. I reach the living room and peek around the corner, looking for any sign of anyone.

"Good morning, Akahana," I heard a soft feminine voice say.

I step into the room and see Konan sitting on the couch eating a bagel. There was nobody else in the room. "Good morning." I step into the kitchen and look through the cupboards, finding bagels and I take one out, sliding it into the toaster and turning it on. While I wait for the toaster, I turn to Konan. "Is it alright if I help myself?" I ask.

Konan nods. "Of course! Eat what you want!"

I smile thankfully and grab some strawberry cream cheese out of the fridge. The toaster pops up and I grab my bagels, swiftly spreading cream cheese on them and taking them to the couch where Konan was sitting. I sat next to her and wondered who would be giving me orders.

"So...how do you survive here, being the only girl and all?" I ask.

"I just keep to myself usually. And Pein." She realizes what she said and blushes. "Not like that! I meant that he's the only one I hang out with."

I laugh. "It's okay, Konan. I understand." I finish my bagel and sigh. "So...what do I clean first?"

"Um...I guess whatever needs to be cleaned. Hidan's room...it's probably pretty bad. Same with Tobi and Zetsu. But we'll start you out with something easy like the living room."

I nod and get to work, picking up remotes, throwing out trash, and dusting and sweeping. I was giving it the full treatment. I finished in about half an hour and sat on the couch to wait for the others to awaken. Konan had left to pick up groceries and such while it was early and I thought about the two that had made the most impact on me so far: the blonde and the silver-haired. Both of them were quite attractive but...they were both jerks. I frown, the reality of my situation just now dawning on me. I was staying here at this base with a bunch of guys. Lots of things could happen. Bad things.

"Morning..." I heard someone mumble. I saw Kisame trudge into the kitchen and fumble around. He opened every cupboard, the fridge, the freezer, and anything else. Then he turned to me. "Akahana...has anyone else been up?"

I shake my head. "No, just me and Konan. Why? What are you looking for?"

He scratches his head. "My fish sticks are gone...and I think I have an idea who might've taken them..." He groans but grabs a box of cap'n crunch cereal and grins. "Great, only a little left." He pours himself the rest of the box and throws it out then adds the milk.

"Who do you think did it?" I ask.

"Tobi." He sits at the kitchen bar and begins voraciously eating the cereal.

I smirk. "Did you finish off his cereal?"

He chuckles and nods. "Yup!"

I laugh. What a clever way to get revenge. I liked him already. "Good thinking!"

He chuckles. "I'll give you the low down."

I nod, listening.

"Pein is a good leader but he's a little harsh at times. Konan is sweet as can be but sometimes a little defensive of Pein. Sasori probably won't mess with you; he's basically nonexistent around here along with Zetsu. But Zetsu might try to eat you...so watch out. Deidara has an explosive temper," Kisame laughs loudly at something and continues, "but he's a very determined person; though he can be rude at times when something gets to him. Kakuzu is a very..." He contemplates for a right word, "frugal so don't do anything to waste money. He can get a bit overbearing sometimes and he's nearly immortal. He also has a wicked temper. Now...on to Hidan..."

"I can already tell you about him," I say, "He's an ungrateful bastard with a pointless intent on killing. And he thinks he's the shit."

Kisame chuckles heartily. "You basically got that on point. Except...he has a point...sort of. He's part of some cult-like religion. He kills to make sacrifices."

"Yeah...still pointless," I say.

Kisame chuckles and shrugs. "I agree."

"What shit are you two talking?"

I smile at Hidan. "We were just talking about how your religion is pointless."

Hidan shrugs. "I don't give two fucks what you two heathens think of my religion. Now, on to important matters. What's for breakfast?"

I shrug. "A little thing called whatever YOU make yourself." I give him a cute, pleasant smile.

"What the fuck? You don't make our breakfast?"

I shake my head. "No."

"Then what's the fucking point of having a damn maid?" He demands.

I shrug. "I don't know, you tell me."

"Maids are fucking supposed to do everything. Cook, clean, flatter, and a little something something else too." He smiles a lopsided grin and winks.

I curl my lip. "If that something something is what I think it is...gross."

Kisame laughs and continues to watch our little discussion.

Hidan chuckles. "How do you know it's gross? You ever slept with me?"

"No but...look at you." I grimace.

Hidan chuckles, "You'll change your mind. Trust me."

"Doubt it," I say, smiling. Oh shit, were we flirting?

Hidan chuckled and went to the fridge, grabbing some leftovers and making himself a plate. "Fine, I'll make myself some fucking breakfast."

"Congratulations," I say, rolling my eyes.

Kisame smiles. "So as I was saying, Hidan is pious and crazy. Very ungrateful but he's pretty amusing to listen to."

"Of course I am," he says, taking a bite out of spare ribs. "I'm the man," he says with his mouth full.

"I wouldn't lie to myself like that," I say.

"Me, I'm really funny and protective over people I like. But...I can be violent at times," Kisame continues, "and Itachi-"

My eyes widen. "I-Itachi?"

"Yup! He's usually quiet but he's a very reasonable and logical person. A great guy to talk to about your life."

"I...I already know about Itachi," I say.

Hidan looks at me, giving me a funny look.

"You do? How?"

"Itachi was one of my best friends."
