"Its time for dinner. Come out now."

I awoke and groggily looked towards the door. It was Kakuzu. "How did you—"

"Key. Now come on and get up. In this base you have to get food while you can or else you'll go hungry."

I sigh and hurry to get up, holding my tattered kimono closed and following the masked man to the dining room.

    "Go ahead and sit there."

I oblige and sit down next to a large blue man. He had gills like a shark and his hair was spiked up.

"Two members are absent. They were assigned missions. But I'll introduce you to the ones who are present. Next to you is Kisame." He pointed to the sharkman. Next he pointed at a man with a Venus flytrap around his head. "Zetsu." He pointed to the blonde boy who brought me here. "Deidara." Next was the boy with the orange, swirly mask. He was the one that accompanied Deidara to get me. "That's Tobi." He points to a blue haired woman next to Pein. "Konan."

I give a slight wave and notice that Hidan was not at the table. "Where is Hidan?"

"He is on probation. Can't have dinner tonight and can't step out of his room unless he's using the restroom. Pein's orders." Kakuzu sits in a chair beside Zetsu.

"Won't he get hungry...?" I ask, feeling somewhat sorry for the guy.

"That's the whole point of his probation. Besides, he needed to be punished for nearly killing you," explained Pein.

"Okay. I understand. After his 'probation', he won't attack me again...will he?"

"He'd better not. His probation would be even longer." Pein takes a bite out of his food. "Akahana, there's food on the counter in the kitchen. Help yourself," he offers.

I stand, thankful, and rush to the kitchen. I grab myself a plate and fill it with all sorts of delicious looking foods. There was fried rice, pork dumplings, spare ribs, spring rolls, sushi, and some kind of liver—which I avoided. I brought my plate back to the table and sat down, eating each food slowly and enjoying the tastes. As I chowed on food, I thought about how hungry Hidan probably was. 'I'll bring him some food,' I thought to myself, 'as a peace offering.' I glanced around the table, watching the people chatter incessantly, talking about many things—from the best way to prepare fish to the best ways to intimidate someone. I find myself grinning at this group's strange diversity.

"Nah, Konan, you'd be wrong about that. Fish is best as sushi. Period. Frying is okay but not as tasty as perfectly prepared sushi." That was sharkman.

"Kisame, raw fish isn't exactly what I find 'tasty.' Besides, it can be dangerous to eat if it's not cooked right."

I speak up. "Well...actually both of those styles taste good. The freshness of the sushi makes it tasty, and the batter in the fried fish makes it tasty. I would like to try both of your fish one day," I say.

Both of them stare at me, surprised. "Oh? You think so? Well thank you," Konan replied, smiling.

Kisame grins a toothy grin. "Sure, and when you taste them, you can tell us whose is better!"

I look between them nervously, "Uh...I don't know..."

"What? We won't get upset about it. It's just food," said Konan.

I sigh, "Okay, I'll do it. Just let me know when I have to do it."

"So, you're going to be our new housekeeper?" Kisame asked.

"Yes. I kinda had no choice," I explain. I glanced around the room. All the chatter stopped and everybody at the table was watching the three of us talk.

"Of course you had a choice, Akahana. You could've refused, but we would've killed you," Pein states.

"Yeah...well that's not exactly the ideal option..." I mumble under my breath.

"What was that, Akahana?" Pein asks, an eyebrow raised.

"Nothing...don't worry about it," I say. I finish my food and stand from the table. "I shall start the dishes. When you guys finish, just bring me your dishes," I announce. I walk into the kitchen and begin loading the dish washer with various plates, bowls, cups, and tableware.

One by one, the members began to bring their dishes, scraping off dirty plates in the trash and handing them to me. Of course there was a few who didn't scrape their plates in the trash...Those guys were the two jerks who captured me in the first place: Deidara and Tobi. I just pretended it didn't bother me and did it myself.

Finally, I had finished the dishes and peeked out of the kitchen. No one was present. I grabbed a plate and put each food on it neatly. Putting the food up, I hurriedly walked down the hall. And then it hit me—I didn't know which room was Hidan's. I mentally cursed.

    And then I heard something.

"Fuck...damn...shit...stupid ass...mother...fucker..." I heard a voice. It continued, cursing every cuss word you could think of. I listened closely. "Probation my ass..."

'This must be his room,' I think to myself. I softly knock on his door and brace myself.

The door swung open and the silver haired man peeked out the door. His eyes registered on me and he frowned. "What the fuck do you want? Come here to let me finish what I started?"

I frown. "No, jerk. I actually came here to bring you some food. But if you don't want it—"

"Hey! Who said I didn't fucking want it?" He opens the door completely and grabs my wrist, yanking me into his room and closing the door. "So...you brought me food. Why?"

I shrug, "I thought you might be hungry. And was hoping this could be...a peace offering."

Hidan laughs obnoxiously. "I don't make peace with anyone. That's for pussies. But thanks for the food, babe," he says, winking.

I roll my eyes and put a hand on the doorknob. "Whatever, babe," I say, emphasizing the word babe with fake endearment. I open the door and walk out, completely annoyed by the rude man.

"Gah, stupid bitch..." he mumbled when I left.

I sigh in disappointment and head back to my room, ready to go back to sleep for the night. I step into my room and close—and lock—the door behind me. I slide into bed and slowly doze off.
