Anakin was scared. He shouldn't be as he was twelve. He couldn't help the small jump at the loud sound from outside. There was loud booms and bright flashes of light. The wind was beating on the window in his room. There was water falling from the sky! He had never seen anything like this, not this bad or loud, and panicked. He managed to leave the rooms without waking up Obi-Wan. He ran through the temple, ending up in the Room of a thousand fountains. He stood in shock at all the clean water and the green in the room, a sight he would never get used to seeing. He wandered, finding a small cave by one of the waterfalls and allowed himself to cry silently.
Obi-Wan was awakened by an overwhelming sense of fear and confusion. He darted to Anakin's room and cursed mentally when there was no padawan in there. He used to bond to sense if his child was safe. He could feel how Anakin had regressed and started to run down temple hallways, sending calming waves to the child. Obi-Wan ended up in the room of a thousand fountains, Anakin's Force presence was strongest here.
"Anakin, love, please come out. I'm sorry that the storm scared you but I need you. Anakin, please?" He sent these words through both the bond and softly calling into the room. As he neared the center of the room, a small figure darted towards him. He picked the small boy up, placing a kiss on the child's forehead.
"There you are, my little one. Let's go back to our rooms and have some milk, hmm?" Obi-Wan held the child close and smiled the whole way back to the rooms. Many Masters and Council Members saw the way the padawan clung to Master Kenobi and how Obi-Wan only had eyes for his padawan. It was shocking but they could do nothing to stop the two from forming attachments to each other and the Force sang around them in a way that caused many Jedi to be on Kenobi's side, stopping the duels forever.
~Flashback~
For years, Kenobi would duel those who thought he was unworthy of Anakin. The duels were brutal and both parties would spend time in the Healing Wing. Anakin was oblivious to the duels but would bawl every time Obi-Wan came back with a bruise, cut, or bandage.
The duels made Obi-Wan skilled. He learned all forms of lightsaber combat and found that his default form was perfected by the amount of battles he fought. Only those stupid enough to try to take Anakin away from him remained. The Force gave him strength to win every duel. The whole temple, except Anakin who was forbidden by the Council and Obi-Wan, watched the duels. Those that attended classes would watch the duels and analyze why the young Jedi Master had beaten numerous older and experienced Masters. Obi-Wan was often asked how he had won.
"I won because I was never going to loose my son." He walked away, Anakin having called his name from down the hallway.
~End Of Flashback~
Anakin continued to cry into Obi's tunic, terrified that he would be punished for running. Obi-Wan could sense the thought. It broke his heart that his Anakin was so fearful of the Jedi around him and would barely come to him unless they were in the same room.
"Oh, my dear Anakin. I will never hurt you. Hush, love. It is only a thunderstorm. How about we sleep in my room?" Obi-Wan whispered as he prepared two cups of warm milk with honey, never letting go of the boy. It took hours for Anakin to fall asleep, curled up next to Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan didn't sleep until an hour or so after Anakin had, content with watching his child sleep peacefully. This time around, Anakin was slightly older in his mindset but not by much. After all, it had only been a thunderstorm.
