Protective Clones

Obi-Wan was sent away to do a solo mission, leaving Anakin with their overprotective clone troopers. He wasn't terribly concerned about Anakin's safety but was concerned about the mental and physical toll it would take on his child. Anakin was 16 now. He was a moody sixteen year old but was rarely the rebel others believed him to be. He was a commander and his trials would be next year. Yoda wanted him to have a padawan and Obi-Wan's objection was only seconded by Mace. Master Kenobi, youngest Council member in centuries, agreed to take on a second padawan that would become Anakin's after his trials. Kenobi sighed as he watched the stars fly by.
Anakin was definitely not panicking. Not at all. He was just checking out the air vents and avoiding Mace and Master Koon. Honestly, Cody and Rex didn't need to climb into the vents along with many of the other men. He was fine, okay? He knew Obi-Wan would come back but he was scared. He started to silently cry as he snuck through the vents over the barracks. The vent opening in front of him made him freeze. Rex's head popped up and Anakin somehow managed to dart backwards and out of reach of the worried clone, staying just out of reach and slightly ahead.
"I found the commander. He's about to pass over your position!" Rex called into his communicator. Anakin didn't notice the trooper before him as he focused on the one behind. Heavy easily managed to get Anakin out of the vents and held him as the clones ran to the corridor to check on the young padawan soon to be knight. Anakin was struggling against Heavy, biting and kicking the armored brother.
"Anakin! Stop this behavior at once!" Anakin froze at the tone of Mace's voice. The Vod glared at the General, Koon hit him on the head, and Anakin started to cry harder. It was Rex that ripped Mace a new one as Cody contacted Kenobi.
"No offense, General, but shut up. You are making the situation worse and escalating the emotions already in play. Please leave if you can't be useful. You are not allowed to be in the same room as Anakin without one of us there as you seem to hate the commander." Rex continued, getting more colorful and emotional. It was a solid thirty minutes before Rex had reached the end of his tirade, shock still covering Mace's face. "Now, sir, leave this side of the ship." Rex turned away from the Council member and walked over to the still crying commander surrounded by his overprotective men.
Skywalker was jokingly called the General With No Fear, a title that the news stations across the Republic used, believing that Skywalker was truly a General not a sixteen year old boy forced to fight in a war he never even had the choice to fight in. The Vod knew how Kenobi and Skywalker worked, Skywalker's regression, and the fear of the Chancellor that Anakin possessed. Anakin was assigned a squadron by the Jedi Council, Yoda to be exact, and had fought with his men for a little over six months. General Kenobi had explained Anakin's past and the mindset when Anakin had a break down. Needless to say, the two units became known as the closest to their General and Commander/General. They put the protective nature of the wolf pack to shame. It was known that one did not mess with the two units' COs without ensuring the wrath of their men.
The Vod all took turns holding and comforting Anakin. They ended up without armor and just started to carry Anakin around, his mindset matching a three year old. It took Obi-Wan a month to finish the mission, a whole month of no contact. It was a whole month that Anakin was incapable of being a sixteen year old. The Vod stayed with the padawan, a constant in the scared boy's life during that time.
