Chapter 4- Lea
“What were you doing outside my window?” Indiana asked. His voice was deep and a little bit raspy but there was a hint of cockiness. It was perfect.
Hold on. Shit he saw me! What am I gonna say! He’s totally gonna know that I’m lying and then he’ll call me out on it and shit shit shit! I’m so screwed! Wait! Brilliant idea! Truth time!
“Hm? Oh sorry yeah I was looking around your house and I fell and landed on my ankle wrong. I didn’t realise I was near your window.” I half lied. I was actually looking around his house and I did fall. I just left out the part about why I was actually looking around and where I fell from. So technically I wasn’t lying. Just leaving out a few key details.
“Oh…” He replied.
My ankle was throbbing and it was swelling so much that I had to take off my flip flop. I don’t know how I’m walking, but I am. Fuck Zoe is gonna kill me for this.
“Do you have any idea what you did to it?” Indiana asked, interrupting my thoughts.
“I fell on it wrong.” I said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“A feisty one aren’t we? First you turn me down cold when I offer you help with your luggage and now you’re being down right mean! Most girls would kill just to get a chance to talk to me but you are just cruel.” Indiana pointed out.
“Aww the baby upset about not getting what he wants? Well, I hate to break it to you, but not everyone in the world loves you.” I spat back.
“Yep. I have found an interesting one indeed. Time to find out about you Miss…?”
I hesitated. Just a few minutes ago his mom told him my name. Wow he really is a moron!
“You know my name.” I said bluntly, limping a little bit faster.
“I do?” He questioned. Did he seriously NOT know?
“Yes moron. Your mom screamed it at the top of her lungs earlier. Are you really that stupid that you can’t remember what your MOM told you a few minutes ago? No wonder you’re hated by me so much!” I fired back, sarcasm and hatred dripping from my voice.
A few seconds passed.
“Lea?” He asked finally.
“You really can remember if you try!” I teased.
“Cute.” It was Indiana’s turn to be sarcastic now.
We finally arrived at my house and I bolted up the front stairs as fast as I could. My ankle wasn’t so happy with me but I don’t really care at the moment. Indiana was being way too annoying right now.
“Bye.” I said quickly before slamming the door.
I only caught a glimpse of him before I slammed the door, But I'm pretty sure he hasn't moved yet. Carefully, I limped over to the nearest window and sure enough, Indiana was standing at the bottom of the stairs, scowling at the door. What do you want Indiana... After a few more seconds, he glanced at the window I was in and I ducked out of sight. I waited for three mississippi's before peaking out again. This time, I saw Indiana stalking off back to his own house. I sighed with relief.
Then something hit me. I caught his attention. FUCK! This was supposed to be my summer away from school and idiots from school and Aspen and I ruined it by hurting my fucking ankle and hating Indiana! This Is so not fair! What did I ever do to deserve this! I mean, besides prank every new kid that comes here what have I done wrong! NOTHING! I think…
