"Lakewood High wins!" The man announced. I immediately sunk back in my seat. My heart sunk to my chest and I felt like I was going to cry. Another year we were beaten.. I stood up and walked over to the girl named Skyler.

"Congratulations. You did good." I smiled.

She grinned at me, "Thank you." I watched as she made her way over to Niall, squealing. I furrowed my eyebrows. Why was she with Niall? I followed them outside. Niall said something that made her smile and she walked over to her car. I ran out from behind the door and over to their car. Niall's eyes grew wide and he blinked at me. What was I doing over here? I don't even know what to say.

"Um. Are you two dating?"

"No." They said in unison.

"Do you two like each other?"

"No." They both said again.

I quirked an eyebrow, "Oh? Niall, what are you doing here? Where's the rest of your band?" I was secretly hoping they were near. I'd really like to see Louis again. Wait. What the hell? Why was I thinking that. I didn't know Louis that well. He probably had some gorgeous girlfriend.

"Hey. Does Louis have a girlfriend?" I blurted out. Why did I just say that? I mentally slapped myself in the face. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Niall raised an eyebrow, "Interested?"

Yes. "No." I lied.

He nodded, giving me a dubious look. "Okay. Whatever you say, Chanel."

My eyes widened, "What? How do you know my name?"

"Math meet. Remember?" He smiled.

I simply nodded. I just need to walk away. I'm making a fool out of myself in front of a member of the world's biggest band.

"What's your twitter?" He asked, suddenly.

"Are you going to follow me?" I asked, wishing I hadn't.

"No. I'm going to send you hate. Yes, I'm going to follow you. What's your twitter?"

"ChanelG94." I told him. I watched as he typed it into his phone. Mine dinged and I quickly pulled it out. Niall Horan is now following you.

"Thanks." I smiled sheepishly.

"It's no problem, really." He smiled at me. That's when I knew it. When I get home, I was going to make sure I won that contest. It was the only way I would meet Louis.. and Courtney would meet them all.

I typed in my name and address as fast as I possibly could. My hands were aching and my fingers were getting tired. I had to win, I just had to. I couldn't let my little sister down.

"Chanel, stop." My mom called. I looked at her, tears in my eyes.

"I have to win this for here. I already sent in a couple the other day, but I'm determined. For real this time."

"Chanel, you've been on that laptop all night." She glanced at my bedside table. "It's three in the morning, go to sleep."

"No mom." I said, groggily.

"Chanel." She said, sternly.

"Just one more.." I trailed off, sleep overtaking me. I felt the laptop move from off of my lap. I felt the covers over my arms and silently thanked my mom.

"Pump it, louder! Pump it, louder! Turn up the radio, blast your stereo, right now." Chandler sang horribly, dancing around like a ballerina with a wedgie.

I glanced up from my computer screen, "Would you be quiet? I'm focusing."

"Lighten up, Chanel. You've had three people on three different laptops entering the contest all day today." She said, moving her arms around.

"Where did that Wii even come from?" I asked.

"I brought it." She shrugged, looking like she was humping air. I looked back down at my laptop and typed in my name for the forty-seventh time that day.

"My fingers." Carter groaned, holding them up in the air. "Look at them."

"They look like fingers." I told him.

He rolled his eyes, "They're about to fall off."

"Your fingers can't fall off." I retaliated.

"I'm home!" I heard a faint voice cry.

Mom! I jumped up off my spot on the couch and towards the front door. "How'd it go? The interview?" I nagged her.

"I am now Berkely Civic Center's new stage manager." She smiled, triumphantly.

I squealed, and wrapped my arms around my frail mother. "Yay! Oh my gosh! How much do you make a year? What concerts are happening soon? Could you get a discount-"

"Chanel. Calm down." My mom smirked.

"Hey Mr. G." Carter said, coming to the door.

"Why don't we move this little party to the living room? What's that noise?"

"Oh. That's just Chandler playing Just Dance 3."

"When did we get a Wii? My mother asked.

"We didn't." I told her, entering the room. Courtney was sitting in her chair, grinning up at Chandler.

"What song is that?" I asked, bewildered.

"Take on me, take on me. Take me on!" She screamed, "I'll be strong!" She started doing this weird dance move. I swear, my friends were so stupid.

I watched as Carter picked up a remote and joined her. I slowly shook my head at their idiocy.

"You should join them." My mom smiled, nudging me.

"Oops. The song's over." I shrugged.

"Oh look! Cheerleaders! Click it, Chan man." Carter said. Chandler hit him over the head and he ducked in cover.

"Why does everyone like hiting Carter?" He asked, "Am I that fun to abuse?"

I grabbed a blue remote and joined in.

"I'm the pink one." Carter said, pressing A.
