The Bite | Eren x Mikasa •Sad•

Prologue: The Bite

I was flying around with my ODM gear, killing Titans of course. In the corner of my eye, I saw a little girl standing over her mom's dead body. She seemed to be utterly subdued in sadness. Then I heard the footsteps, the footsteps when you hear death coming closer.

Before I could even think, the 15 meter Titan was towering over the little girl. I couldn't let this happen again. Time after time I would witness a death I could so easily prevent. This time, I become the hero. I darted myself towards that Titan and as it was reaching its hand to grab her, I quickly sliced its hand with all my power.

The Titan then turned its attention to me. I tried to go straight for the neck, but I was sloppy the Titan grabbed and started squeezing me. I screamed in agony and pain. "This is it," I thought to myself, "It's time I finally die."

As the Titan was about to cram me into its mouth, I could make a silhouette of familiar women coming towards us in the reflection of its eye.

I was being thrown into its mouth. Suddenly, somebody grabbed my arm. I lifted my hefty gaze to meet who it was. And, no surprise it was Mikasa. However, she threw me outside of its mouth and onto the rooftops next to the titan.

But, she couldn't save herself. She was trying to hold its jaw together. "Eren...." Mikasa wheezed, struggling to say a word since the mouth of the Titan was closing, "I.....I am sorry for all the times I treated you like a baby, for always lecturing you over the littlest things. You are the only reason I'm clinging onto my life right now. You are the only family I have left. So as a gratitude for saving me back then, I'll save you here and now."

I was so shocked by her words. I never knew she felt this way about me. I've always treated her like nothing, ignore her and sometimes yell at her for always being so over-protective even though she saved me multiple of times.

I tried to get up, but my ribs, I couldn't move. I felt like my entire body was shattered and pinned down by some heavy weight. I screamed, and screamed trying to keep the Titan from closing its mouth, but it didn't work. She was suddenly engulfed by the shadows, and gone, forever.
