ayla's pov |

"Mom, what are you doing here," I growled as she walked up to me, "Ayla, sweetheart, I've missed you so much," and tried hugging me. I snapped away. "Get away from me. I'm serious." I held Carter close to me as I backed away from my mother.

"Ayla. Carter. I am your mother. Come here right now and let me hug my children-" I got in her face and screamed softly, "You're not our mom anymore!" Tears were begging to run down my cheeks but I wouldn't let them, I stayed calm and collected. "You've done nothing to show us that." Daniel tried getting in front of me, "I think that maybe you should go, Mrs. Santos." He calmly spoke. She was trying so hard to hide her temper, you could tell. "No one asked you to ruin our family, Mr. Seavey." She muttered, her breath smelled like alcohol and her clothes had an odor of cigarette smoke. I barged in between them, "He didn't ruin it. You did. She gritted her teeth, quietly mumbling, "You'll pay for this, Ayla Gray." Then she stomped away. Hitting Keri as she left, "Mom!" Daniel went over to her, my dad, Carter and I followed. Jeff and my dad surrounded her, "I'm so sorry, she's unpredictable," Dad was apologizing for her actions. Keri shook her head, "Tony, her wrongdoings aren't your fault." I gave her a hug. Then walked away with Carter in my arms.

"Was that really worth it, Ayla?" Daniel seemed startled. I was confused, "What're you talking about?" I asked putting Carter down. Soon our friends found us. "I mean, she seemed angry. Don't you think she's capable of doing something terrible?"

I thought for a second but never got the chance to say something because Maya and Christina pulled me away.

They wanted to pick out a photo we'd taken together to post on Instagram. Somehow, that was more important than the real issue that was my mother. But, we're just stupid teenagers. Soon, we had them:
