The next morning I wake up to the sun shining in my eyes. I get up and walk out of the guest room wearing the baggy shirt I assumed was Aziz's.
I walk downstairs and find that he's already in the kitchen making something. I assume is good because it smells delicious. I peek over his shoulder and see he's making pancakes and scrambled eggs.
"Hungry?" He asks not even turning around to look if I was here.
"Yes" I say sitting down on the barstool behind the island countertop.
Aziz sets down a plate filled with pancakes and scrambled eggs. I dug in, not caring how I looked.
After eating thirds I pushed the plate away, unable to eat any more "full?" He asks taking my plate and I nod my head yes.
"Alright, well I have work today so imma need to take you with me" He tells me and I nod my head again.
He chuckled giving me a smile that'll melt anybody heart. "Shy little thing huh?" He says and I nod again. "Well then, go get dressed so we can get going"
I quickly run upstairs not even answering, I'm kind of excited. I get to go to his work and see what he does.
I get changed into a red sundress that I packed into my backpack. I take my backpack with me and I run back downstairs to see Aziz waiting by the door in a white button down shirt and black dress pants and black shiny dress shoes. He was holding a black briefcase in one hand and some books in the other.
"I got you some books to read and a tablet for you to play so games on." He tells me. Tablet? I've never heard of a tablet.
Aziz opens the door and I walk out heading towards his black car. Since it's day time I could actually see what kind it was. It was a 2016 black Tahoe, and honestly it looks newer. He must takes care of his cars.
I knew right away Aziz was a very successful business man by the way he walked in the massive building. He kept his posture tall, stiff, and strong, not letting anything get though the wall he's made.
The building itself was as beautiful as his house, but more....glass. Walking inside the mirror building, you could tell the walls were windows instead. Inside the first floor held seating areas placed in various of areas while there was one glass desk seated in the center of the floor.
One older lady occupied the desk, organized, yet messy with the papers placed haphazardly on her desk and over her computer keyboard. She looks calm and collected, yet if you look in her eyes you could probably, maybe see the stressfulness of the job she has.
I follow Aziz into an all glass elevator, with metal handle bars and a metal floor. Even the door was glass, and the floor buttons were touch screen. He clicked the very top number, floor number 17.
I watch as the elevator moves up to the top floor, that is till the elevator stopped at floor 11. A man stands on the other side, he too holding a black briefcase, and is dressed very professionally. I'm guessing he works here.
He steps onto the elevator and gives Aziz's a hand handshake. "Morning Greenwood" the new man tells Aziz.
"Good morning Parker, hows your wife?" Aziz asks leaning back on the railing.
"She's good, but home with the baby." The man says before looking over at me. He has bright blue eyes and dirty blond hair, and is standing at a good 6 foot. Not taller than Aziz though. "Is This your new assistance? You just got a new one"
Aziz let out a soft chuckle. I'm guessing they are friends since they are so comfortable with each other. "No, no I'm taking her in. Her father abused her and she ran away, better with me than with that man"
The other man I'm guessing is named Parker just nods and puts his hand out to me. I take is and he gives it a soft shake, then letting it go. "As you could tell, my name is Parker. What is your name?"
I look down at my hands and I could feel Parker's eyes on me and hear Aziz soft chuckle. "Her name is Amberley. She's shy, don't worry" he tells Parker like it's nothing.
The elevator stops at floor 17 and all three of us gets off, walking down a hall before stopping at a door. Aziz opens it and a small young lady who could be 23 is sitting at a desk a couple of feet away from one other door.
"Good morning Mr. Greenwood. Would you like your coffee?" She asks in a soft voice.
"Yes please" Aziz tells her before unlocking the other door and going in.
I follow him in to see another room with a desk in the middle, with a large bookcase behind it, two chairs in front of the desk, and a black rug under the desk. There is also a black couch in the corner, with a chair to match it and a lamp behind both of them.
Aziz goes and sits at the desk and pulls out a laptop from his black briefcase. Why would he have a laptop when there is a computer right on his desk?
"Sit down" Aziz tells me pointing to the chair in front of his desk and I obey without a word. He hands me the stack of books and an enlarged phone on top of it. I'm guessing this is the tablet.
I look through the books, moving them from one leg to the next. While I was looking the tablet fell from my leg and onto the floor. Oh no! I quickly pick it up and look at Aziz to see if he noticed, but sure enough he just kept talking to Parker, not even caring that I dropped it.
I set the tablet on the desk, luckily with no cracks or scratches, then resuming to look though the books he got me. I finally found a book that I might like. It's about a surfer girl who has to move away for a family emergency, then learns to skateboard and meets a boy.
I set all the books on the floor next to me and start my reading. The work day went on and on while the book got more and more interesting. I mean the guy is a skateboarder with a missing arm! How cool is that?!
