College Life: Expect the Unexpected

Day 2- Studio Time 2

You start your second day as a freshman and to be honest... class and joining clubs is the last thing on your mind. That boy... Bruno... that's all you could think about. 'How could I be soo hooked on this dude that I just met?' You ask yourself... something about him just makes you instantly hooked to him. Speaking of him, as you walk to your 12pm class, you spot him and Phil walking around campus, but you don't stop to talk because you didn't want to be late, but after that class you see him again sitting at a bench, alone. Since you have time now, you walk over to him and sit next to him, "Hey there!" Bruno's face lights up, "Hey Y/N! How are you?" You smile, "I'm good! Um... what are you doing here alone?" Bruno: "I uhh... just needed some space ya know. Away from everything." "Everything... ok?" Bruno: "Uhh yeah... yeah everything is ok. I just... need some time to think ya know." You nod, "I get that...well Bruno, if you ever need anything- I'm here." Bruno smiles and pats your hand, "Thank you." You smile. All of a sudden, you feel someone poke at your shoulder. Jess: "Ummmm excuse me. What are you doing here?" You turn to her, "Jess, hello. I was just leaving." Jess gives you a fake smile, "You sure were." Bruno's face changes. You stand, "Girl, let's not get smart." Jess: "Smart? No Y/N, I was just telling you what you were doing." "Ohhh really. Well I could've just continued to sit here next to Bruno and ignored you." Jess: "HA. Mkay Girl. You go on ahead and do that and see what happens." You laugh, "Ohhh right, I sit here next to Bruno, you get all mad, and you run off crying... Yeah sounds about right." Jess rolls her eyes, "Lie again." "Well we were definitely not about to fight... you want highschool to repeat itself?" Jess starts to get upset. "Ohh sorry... did I hit a nerve. You'll be fine cause I won't beat you as bad as Cassi did... *pause and smiles* Well I guess I will go now. Bye Bruno... I'll see you later today." Jess: "Shut up already... wait... hold up, later today?" Bruno: "Jess, chill. Bye Y/N. See you later." As you smile and walk away, Jess sits next to Bruno, "That bitch.. anyways, what was that about?" Bruno: "Nothin. We were just talking." Jess: "Ohh really. Hmmm. Sure. I told you about her." Bruno rolls his eyes, "Girl. I don't even wanna hear it right now. She's a chill girl and from what I know about her, she's not problematic. And what's this about you getting beat by Cassi?" Bruno laughs a little. Jess: "I don't even wanna talk about it. It's old stuff... anyways. I don't want to see you with her anymore, at least not when no one's around you." Bruno rolls his eyes, "We just met. What could possibly happen?" Jess: "Mmm... A LOT." Bruno smack his lips, "Enough about her, where were you last night?" Jess: "You don't know her like I do, so I'm just sayin. But anyways.., where was I? I was out." Bruno sits up straight, "Ohh really. When you called me last night you said you were gonna be a little late getting back to your room so we couldn't spend time together. You didn't tell me why." Jess rolls her eyes, "Can a girl just have her time to herself?" Bruno: "Hm. Same old Jess huh? Wanna have her time. That's what you said last time too." Jess gasps, "'Same old Jess?!' How about same old Bruno talking to other girls you have no business talking to." Bruno: "Ha. Ok Jess." Jess: "And while you're talking about me, what is this about her seeing you later huh?" Bruno: "Don't worry about it. What you should be worried about is us." Bruno gets up with his bag and walks away. Jess: "You get back here Bruno!!! You know what.. whatever." She huffs and pulls out her phone.

Jess doesn't reply to Urbana and walks off.
You soon end up in your dorm room. Cassi is sitting on her bed working on song lyrics until you walk in. Cassi: "Oh hey... what's up with you?" You throw your bag, "Jess. She comes over while me and Bruno were talking and is like 'Excuse me?!' Like girl. Really?? Then when I tell her I was leaving she was like 'You sure was.' Like wtf. Then she gon threaten me like girl I will cut you and take yo man." Cassi laughs, "Ohhh I thought you were the goodie in this group." You roll your eyes, "She's pushing me." Cassi: "Calm... you know she can't do shit so don't stress yourself." You get in your bed, "Whatever. I'm gonna take a nap until I have to meet Bruno in the studio." Cassi: "Wait... I wanna know how that beat making session went yesterday... you never told me." You turn over to face her, "Well... it went good. We really connected musically which was really good and how I think we were getting the beats down fast... He got close a couple times ya know, but just to help me with instruments.." Cassi smiles, "Ohhh really. Girrrlll did you feel any other... connections?" You smile a little, "I did but... how can you instantly like someone like that..?" Cassi smiles, "It's called love at first sight girl. And plus... his looks and everything can pull any girl in." You smile and lay on your back, "And then he sung to me... his voice was so beautiful. Then we started talking about our musical childhood and how our lives are now.." Cassi: "Since y'all were talking about that, you had to have asked him about Jess." "Nahh... well I mean I did, but he didn't get to answer fully... he said it was complicated." Cassi laughs, "Ohhh complicated? HA. Girl, I would bring it up again tonight... get to the bottom of it. And hey... maybe make a move." You roll your eyes, "I'm not about to become a hoe. That's not what I do." You both laugh. Cassi: "Well at least ask him again about Jess." "Yeah... I will." Cassi smiles and returns to writing and you turn over to take your nap.
5pm...
You arrive at the studio. You knock on the door but there is no answer. "Hey Bruno, it's me!, Y/N!" You knock again, then turn the handle. "Hello?" You walk in and see Bruno laying on the couch sleep. You smile and close the door. 'Damn... he looks so good just laying there... And he still has that hat on.. *laughs* He never takes off his hats I guess...' You walk over to him and tap him. He doesn't move, so you shake him a little. Bruno jumps up, "Huh?" You laugh, "Hey sleepy head! Sorry, didn't mean to scare you *laughs*." Bruno smiles, "Oh Nahh you're good. I'm sorry.. I've been here for a while, had to get a little nap in." You look around, "I see... you have chip bags and a big drink over there.. then you got papers over here... Let me guess.. you were in here workin huh?" Bruno sits up, "Yeah I was actually. I needed to get some things off my mind ya know and working in here helps me do that." You walk over to sit next to him. "Yeah, I understand. It be like that some times..." Bruno looks at you as you sit, "I'm sorry about Jess.. she was taking things too far and has been in her own world lately. Think she's all that and a bag of Sour Cream Onion chips..." You laugh a little and turn to him, "It's cool... I've dealt with her before and I know her and ways, no need to apologize." Bruno smiles, "Ohh ok, I just wanted to say that because I know she wasn't... I'll have a talk with her too, if we ever get the chance to talk." "What do you mean? Y'all are together so... why wouldn't y'all talk?" Bruno: "I don't know... but lately we've been arguing and talking less... I love her but it's like, she's so jealous and so quick to boss me around, then in public she'll be all over me for some reason and then after that, she ain't feelin me behind closed doors... I don't know what the hell is going on with her. Then after you left and me and her talked at the bench.. that was the last time I spoke to her." You start to feel bad, "Aww... I'm sorry Bruno. How long has this been happening exactly?" Bruno puts his head down, "It's like this off and on. It's like roller coaster with her... I don't know if I can take it." You get closer to him, "How long have y'all been together?" Bruno: "3 years now... 3 long years.." "And you haven't talked to her about this?" Bruno picks up his head, "Trust me. I've mentioned this to her, but then she brings up how it's apparently my fault. So I'm like whatever." "Well... I'm sorry Bruno." You pat his back, "Maybe she'll come back around and y'all can figure things out." Bruno looks at you, "I don't know... then last night she didn't meet up with me. She won't even tell me where she was." You think... "Hmm... maybe she was still hanging out with friends." Bruno: "Yeah maybe... but Urbana wasn't there because she was with Phil so... I don't know." "Damn..." Bruno stares off at the wall. "Here, give me a hug man... you look like you need one." Bruno turns to hug you. You attempt to let go, but Bruno doesn't let go. "Um.... well. Just don't worry too much, just talk to her ok. If she wants y'all to work... she'll come talk to you... so. Let's not talk about her. Let's just um.. start on these next set of beats huh..?" Bruno slowly lets you go, "Y/N... I want to thank you." You smile, "You're welcome." Bruno: "Like you didn't have to listen to my sad story... but you did. We just met and you're already acting like you've known me for forever... Thank you." You pat his hand, "No problem." He stares at you. 'Man... should I? No... No. I can't. Just grab the guitar.' You think to yourself. Bruno leans in a little but you turn to grab the guitar. Bruno clears his throat, "So you got the guitar this time?" You smile, "Yes. Let's do this!" Bruno laughs and goes to the piano and y'all start putting beats together again.
It's 6:30pm- you and Bruno finished the beats and are now sitting at the piano.
"Ahhh we finished it! And fast too." Bruno laughs, "We sure did huh? And you on the drums earlier... AMAZING. These beats we gotta show Phil and Cassi." You smile, "Yes you know we do!" Bruno turns to you, "You know... you're a nice girl. You're chill and laid back. You don't let things get to you... or at least make it obvious." You laugh a little, "Ehh... I try to be chill and not let things get to me ya know..." Bruno: "And ya know... Phil's told me a lot about you." "Ohhh really. When did you both have time to talk about me?" Bruno: "This morning when we were walking around campus and saw you. Phil pointed you out and that's how it happened." You shake your head, "Ohhh Phil. I hope he didn't say too much." Bruno: "Nahh he just said you look happy today and not in a mood like yesterday at the meeting." "Oh... well yeah." Bruno: "What was up yesterday? At the meeting... I saw you looking at me and Jess but I didn't think anything of it but since we can talk to each other a little more.." You freeze. "Umm.. well. Jess. She just aggravates me ya know." Bruno laughs, "Mhmm... Ohh." You laugh, "What's that Mhmmm for?" Bruno: "Ohh Nothin." Y'all have a moment of silence, then Bruno scoots close to you, "Listen to this." He starts to play a few keys.
