school was finally over but life was never meant to be easy. it was raining heavily and you had left your umbrella at home. your parents were working so they couldn't fetch you and you didn't have enough money to call for a cab.
so you grumbled and waited for the intensity of the rain to die down, hoping it wouldn't take too long.
"hey."
you perked up, turning to your right. standing there was seokjin with an umbrella in his hand. you frowned, eyes lingering on the baby blue umbrella he held, "hey..."
"let's go." he smiled. "hm?" you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, panicking a little when he pulled you by the arm. "what are you doing? don't touch me!" you released yourself from his grip and crossed your arms over chest.
"funny how you think that way. i would never touch someone like you in that manner." although his words gave you a sense of relief, you were quite offended, thinking he meant you weren't attractive enough or much of a woman to be touched.
"and i'm sending you home." he added.
"huh, why?" you squeaked out. "because i checked the weather forecast and it says the rain won't stop until late at night. so unless you want to leave school long after the school gates close, come under the umbrella with me." he cocked an eyebrow.
you blinked, "oh, thank you."
you stood under the umbrella, now walking home with seokjin by your side. in order to keep a safe distance between the two of you, you let a third of your body get drenched in rainwater.
seokjin noticed this, slinging his left arm over your shoulders and pulling you close to him. his arm remained there to ensure you didn't try to get yourself in the rain again.
the journey to your house was awfully quiet. the only sounds filling your ears would be the pitter-pattering of rain, occasional booming of thunder and cars zooming past on the slightly flooded road.
you had drifted away in thoughts on what to eat for dinner that when you were pulled, you shrieked. your chest was pressed against his and you weren't sure if the heartbeats belonged to you or him or maybe even the both of you.
you pushed yourself off of him and took awhile until you finally understood the situation. when the cars drove by, they so happened to splash rainwater, often wetting your legs. you guessed that a big vehicle had travelled past and in order to save you from getting fully drenched, he pulled you close.
soon, you were home.
"thank you, for sending me home." you smiled. seokjin tried his best to not break out into a grin by pursing his lips, "whatever. bye." then he walked off, towards the direction you came from.
"why did you send me home if your house is that way?" you shouted, genuinely concerned. "don't worry about me, i take the bus and it goes straight to my place!" he waved you off and ran towards the nearest bus stop when he saw a bus, which you assumed was the bus he usually took.
