Lion girl

She was a bright little girl, wrapped in a worn down winter coat several times her size that framed her face like the mane of a lion. Underneath her hood, during winter almost impossible to see, she wore a hat with "lions roar" stitched to the front, her trademark that she never seemed to take of. Her fragile looks and run down clothes that looked as though she had fished them out of a dumpster tricked many into thinking of her as a weak little girl, an easy target, but she was no prey. She was a hunter, baring her fangs at anyone that dared cross her. Her eyes had that glitter of wildness and life with a touch of hatred that made you want to flee when you met her gaze, too stubborn and proud to give up, no matter what live threw in her way. It set her apart from all the other kids on the street with their lifeless stares.  She was the queen of the backstreets, or "lioness of the backstreets" as they called her, that had brought everyone else to their knees and with all that it was easy to forget that she was only a ten year old girl, all alone in the world and no matter how much of a fighter she was, in the end lions just weren't made for the cold.
