He had been a quiet kid, too shy to talk to others confidently. Rather reserved, even in friendships, as if he couldn't quite figure out what to do with people. But he wasn't anymore. He had become a man now, standing tall, his smile, not shy like before, but confident. His appearance reflecting his new found self-confidence with his hair stylishly geeled back. Wearing a suit and a tie, he had become a loving husband and father, something he would never have dared imagine as a child. When meeting him before it would have been hard to imagine him as a good father, or a businessman, but he had become both now, outgrowing his insecurities. Or so it seemed at least. Whenever he felt insecure, without realizing, he had always stroked the back of his neck and he did even now. When watching him for a while you could see him do it from time to time, while talking, during a short moment of hesitation before entering a room, sometimes even when he talked to his wife. The person he was hadn't changed, deep down, he was still the shy and reserved boy he had always been, just a little bit more experienced, with a little bit more confidence.
