The sky was dark. Not really. It was actually really light out. But that was probably because everything was set on fire. And it was all Sephiroths fault. Jenovas really.
He knew what he had done. The things she had made him do. The things he had destroyed. The things she had made him destroy. The people he had betrayed. The people she had made him betray. The people he had killed. The people she had made him kill. Fuck. Warm crimson blood was still dripping off the tip of Masamune.
And it wasn't just anybodies blood.
It was Cloud Strife's blood. Cloud Fucking Strife. The only person in the whole world who could have possibly beaten him. But he didn't. And that's why he was laying at the silver generals feet. The stunning blue eyes that used to glow with mako where now cold. Dull. Dead.
Sephiroth knelt beside the cold body and poked Cloud in the arm. Just to make sure he was really dead. That didn't satisfy the general though. Everyone knew even civilians could ignore a poke on the arm. What they couldn't ignore however was a poke in the EYE!!!
Just as Sephiroth was about to try his hand got slapped away. "Will you fucking stop that?" A young voice growled by the older mans ear. "It's not bad enough you tormented me while I was alive, but you have to do it while I'm dead too?"
Turning his head slightly, the silver haired man saw Cloud sitting beside him. The very same Cloud that was laying dead in front of him. But a bit younger. Maybe. With all the mako in the adult version it was hard to tell how old he really was. He eyes were still the hard, cold, deadly things he come to recognize over the years. But he was wearing a cadet uniform instead of the altered solder uniform. And a slight green light seemed to not only flow through and surround him.....but he seemed to be made of the stuff.
With a quick poke to the dead Cloud's cheek Sephiroth raised a perfect eyebrow, "I tormented you?"
A glare was all it took for Sephiroth to sigh and stop poking the body in front of him. "I wish I could change it Cloud..."
The green light that surrounded the boy glowed a bit. Sephiroth could see the gentle green light shining on his leather gloves. "Change what?" The blond asked. With the way the boy sat a little straighter, and held his head a little higher Sephiroth knew Cloud knew what. That little shit wanted Sephiroth to admit defeat. Not that he had any trouble doing it...now.
"Everything."
Cloud gave the silverette a strange look before nodding his head. "You understand what happened?" He asked, waving his hand around the destroyed landscape around them.
"Yes."
Cloud nodded his head again. "You know what needs to be changed?"
"Yes." The answer came out more angry then he had intended it to. He glanced at Cloud to see if he had noticed. If he did he hid it well. Sephiroth didn't want Cloud thinking he would start over angry. That would probably be a bad start. But the look in the blonds eyes said he understood. He understood Sephiroths anger. The look in those blues eyes said that he was reluctant to give the general a second chance....but he would.
The world grew dark. The last thing Sephiroth remembered before passing out was green...
