Complaints of a Missing Cadet

Paperwork. Someone had kindly organized the blasted stuff into neat piles around his desk. If he remembered correctly, most of the paperwork he had to look over was stupid shit. Permission to move barracks or build a new locker room. I don't fucking care. Just do it if we need them.

Sitting down with a sigh, Sephiroth picked up a paper off the stack nearest him. A request form to touch up the paint in the gyms. Ugh.

Hours later, after the silverette had managed to set fire a large portion of the work, a timid knock sounded on his office door. Zack slowly poked his head in. "Hey Seph? Can I ask you something?"

"Of course. What do you need?" Sephiroth tried to hide how excited he was that someone had come to save him from this hell. He folded his hands in front of him and pretended the small fire in his metal trash can didn't grow or burn a whole in his floor. That happened to Genisis once.

"Well," Zack's gaze fell as he scratched the back of his head, "I wasn't sure when to bring it up since you were crazy depressed the last couple weeks. But I can't find Spiky. He collapsed and I took him to the infirmary. I went to check on him a couple times, but the nurses said I couldn't see him. And when I went to check on him a week later they said he had checked himself out. And now I can't find him."

He wasn't going to get his hopes up. The boy Zack was talking about wasn't Cloud. It wasn't his blond haired, blue eyed adorable rival. It had to be some other child. Cloud never came back with him. Cloud wasn't here.

"I see," Sephiroth whispered. "Have you filled out a missing cadet form?" Zack had so many friends. Everyone was his friend. And as much as Sephiroth wanted to deny it, Cloud was definitely the person Zack was talking about.

Quietly pulling a paper off one of the stacks on the floor Zack nodded, "'Geal and Gen said they couldn't help me. And if I mentioned Spiky again they were going to tag team in feeding me to Ifrit." While Zack laughed at his last remark it wasn't hard to tell that he was broken. His voice...sounded so sad.

Taking the paper from the younger man Sephiroth glanced over it. 'The child's name is Cloud Strife. He's got blond hair. Blue eyes. Kinda looks like a Chocobo.' Chocobo? Yep, that's what Zack wrote. But Seph could see the similarities. He'd have to bring it up the next time he ran into his Cloud. Not some imitation Cloud Zack was looking for. 'He's a shy boy. And underdeveloped. He's quiet but a hard worker. Skinny. Scrawny even.' Definitely not his Cloud. His Cloud was none of these things.

But

What if?

Okay, first of all I have no idea what I wrote in Possibly Heart Broken. So if this all sounds confusing then I'm so sorry.

Secondly, I'm so sorry I haven't been around in a while. I promise I'll be more active in 2015 :)
