Hello, my name is Julian Thanos. I'm 16 years old and a senior in high school, I know that's young but I was skipped a grade. I'm 5 feet 10 inches tall, with long to the middle of my shoulder blades, semi-curly dirty blond hair, amber colored eyes and I'm openly gay. When I arrived to my new school here in America from Greece, I was tested and the school decided that I needed to be skipped a grade, so here I am, 16 years almost 17 years and a senior in high school. The reason that I and my younger brother, Layland and our dad, James (who's fully American but got dual citizinship in Greece and America), when my mom, Juno, who was fully Greek, died a year and a half ago in a car accident with Layland and I in the car while on our way to pick our dad up from work.
Dad decided that since our mom's parents were already deceased, that my brother and I needed to be around family, so we moved from beautiful Athenes, Greece to cold as hell Ludington, Michigan. We lived with my dad's parents for the first six months we've been here, but now the last six months the three of us moved into our own home.
So today is the first day of school for my senior year and Layland's junior year at the age of 15 years almost 16 years; he was skipped a grade as well when we moved here. My alarm went off at 6 a.m. for me to get up and shower and get ready for my day. As I exit my bedroom and pass Layland's I knock on his door and holler for him to get up for school and I get a grumble in response as I hear his feet hitting the floor.
Turning the shower on I let the water warm up while I strip down before stepping into the water. Once I'm throughly washed I get out, dry off and get dressed before brushing my teeth and combing out my long hair before pulling it up into a ponytail and put on my body spray on before I walk out of the bathroom before going back to mine to grab my backpack and wallet before heading downstairs to start breakfast for myself and Layland since dad is already at work, he's a police officer and his shirft starts at 5 a.m. and he's usually home by 1:30 in the afternoon if he doesn't have to stay over for more time.
Ten minutes later Layland is downstairs stll not fully awake even after his shower. "Morning little brother," I say as he grabs a plate with food on it before he sits down at the kitchen table.
"Morning," he mumbles around his mouthful of food. Chuckeling as I sit down with my own food to start eating.
"Excited for you junior year in hell?" I ask chuckeling as he groans but agrees that he's ready to be done with this hell and move onto college.
"When's your next fight?" Layland asks looking up at me from his food that he's almost done with.
"Friday night." Raising an eyebrow at him I remind him, "Remember do not tell dad otherwise I won't give you a percentage of my winnings."
He nods and tells me he knows. I fight MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and my brother comes with me every time I fight and he comes along and tends to my cuts since he's my manager. I give him ten percent of my winnings from every fight; regardless if I win or not I always get money. If I show for a fight and loose I get fifteen hundred dollars and if I win it depends on the size of the pot what I come home with. If I win the fight I usually put most of it in my savings account in order to buy a car for me this year and one for Layland when he's old enough. If I have any money left, I plan on paying for mine and my brother's college tutions. I win ninty-five percent of my fights. I have a lot of pent of anger that I use in the ring. I also was trained when we lived in Greece.
After placing our bowls in the sink we head to the bus stop with our bookbags. Five minutes later the bus arrives, we board with the other ten people and off we go to hell.
Inside the school Layland and I part ways to head to our lockers. Stopping at my locker, I open it after putting the combination in I pull out my first three classes books and put my bag inside the locker. Shutting the door I notice my two friends standing at one of thier lockers.
