"What if it doesn't work?" Meredith asks gripping her hand in mine.

"It has to work. Calm down," I tell her leaning back into the airplane seat.

"I can't calm down. We've spent 2 weeks in L.A., my emotions are everywhere, and we're flying in a plane," Meredith whisper-yells at me. I turn over in my seat and give her a smile.

"You remember when we first met?" I calmly ask her.

"We were in a coffee shop in New York. You told me that you loved the blouse that I was wearing, and then you sat down across from me, and I knew you were the one," Meredith calms down as she talks. Her eyes start to water as her grip on my hand strengthens.

"You knew, and I knew. It's you and me, Meredith. We can do this," I tell her.

"We can do this," she repeats. I kiss her hand and sit back. "Addison..." I look over and see Meredith shaking and tearing up.

"Meredith, it is going to be okay. You really need to calm down," I whisper. I unbuckle my seatbelt and get down on my knees, making kneeling in front of Meredith possible in a plane.

"It's not going to work. Addison, it's not going to work," she cries.

"And if it doesn't work, we'll adopt, or try again, or have a surrogate." I put my hand on her cheek and smile.

"Will you still love me even if it doesn't work?"

"There is nothing in this universe that could make me not love you," I tell her. She smiles and I kiss her cheek.

"What do we do when we get Boston?" She asks me when I get back into my seat.

"Well, we can explore. See your mom, of course. And we can do the most random stuff." I take a break talking and look into her eyes. "Then on our second to last day, we see if it worked or not... Okay?"

"Okay," Meredith agrees.

The plane ride to Boston is long and exhausting, but it's filled with Meredith and I talking, her napping on my shoulder, and her cute snoring with it. But when we finally get to Boston Meredith is ecstatic.

"What do you think my mother is going to say?" Meredith asks as we get to baggage claim.

"I think she is going to say she is happy for us. And that she couldn't wait for us to see her again." Meredith rolls her eyes as I get our bags. I carry the carry-on, her suitcase, and my suitcase, which doesn't make her happy.

"I can carry something," she bites at me.

"How about you just follow me and look pretty," I tell her, winking. Again, she rolls her eyes.

We walk out of the airport, and soon Ellis is pulling up. Her car is nice, very nice. Almost makes me jealous. Meredith gives me a look of shame, and I just smile. As Ellis gets out of the car, Meredith groans.

"Meredith? You couldn't even carry the carry-on?" Her mom barks as she comes up to us. Meredith gives me a look, a look that says "you should have let me carry the damn bag". I just smile. "Give your mother a hug," Ellis commands, which surprises me even. Meredith's eyes go wide as Ellis throws her arms around her daughter.

Ellis lets go of Meredith and helps me get our bags into the car. I sit in the back while Ellis and Meredith chat in the front. All I can do is smile at how much Meredith and Ellis' relationship had changed. When I first met Meredith, she wanted nothing to do with her mom. They nearly hated each other. But as Meredith and I's relationship grew stronger, Ellis and Meredith had gotten closer. By the time our wedding came, Ellis was so happy, she changed. And she's changed even more so in the past 8 months... she hugs now!
