"Mom!" An angry teenager yells across the airport. Meredith turns her head to see her 14 year old daughter standing there with her suitcase. Meredith waves and starts walking over to her daughter.
"Where's your brother?" She asks the young woman. Before the girl has time to answer the question, a 9 year old boy comes running out of the terminal.
"Hi Mom!" The dark haired boy chirps, running to hug his mom. Meredith hugs her son, a smile plastered on her face.
Meredith and her two children start walking, her right arm draped around her daughters shoulder, while her left arm rests on her sons.
"So? How was it?" Meredith asks.
"Same as usual," her daughter replies nonchalantly. She looks over at her daughter and gives her a sympathetic look.
"Sarah, you know your dad tries," she tells Sarah softly. Sarah nods her head as her little bother listens in. "How about, we go home, have some hot chocolate, and cuddle on the couch?" Meredith offers. Both of her kids faces turn into a smile.
"Is Addie home?" They both ask. Meredith's face also turns into a smile.
"You know, I think she might be," she replies, a goofy grin on her face. They all keep walking, her arms going back to their previous spot.

Meredith unlocks the door to her home, letting her children go in first. They walk into the all to familiar home and smile. They take their coats off just as Addison walks into the main entrance. She gives the kids a goofy face as they look at her, their smiles getting bigger.
"Addie!" They say happily, running into her arms. She smiles and hugs them back, holding onto them tightly.
"Uh, I missed you guys. So. Much!" She tells them, kissing there foreheads. The children both laugh. Meredith stands in the background, hands in her pockets, smiling at her children and wife of nearly 5 years.
"Okay," Meredith says clapping her hands, snapping them out of their moment. "Hot chocolate, cake, and movies. Now!" Meredith tells them, pretending to be strict. Her kids roll their eyes, Meredith giving them the eye before going upstairs.
Addison walks over to Meredith. She wraps her arms around Meredith's waist, kissing her lips softly. Meredith smiles, her own face an inch away from her wife's.
"Is the cake done?" Meredith asks softly. Addison gives her a goofy grin as she nods.
"I think it is," she laughs, clearly being goofy about it. Addison turns, taking Meredith's hand and leads them into the kitchen. They enter to reveal 4 mugs of hot chocolate, and 4 plates of chocolate cake.
"God, I love you," Meredith whispers as she rests in Addison's arms. Addison stands behind Meredith, her nose in her neck, her arms wrapped around her waist.
"Well, you should," Addison says laughing, pressing a kiss against Meredith's cheek. Before either of them can say anything else, the kids both come running into the kitchen.
"Can I eat all of these?"
"No, Carson!" Sarah yells at her little brother. He pretends to be upset, which earns him an eye roll from both Meredith and Sarah.
"You all get one of each, and when you've decided which one you want, go sit in the living room, Mom and I will be out there after you guys," Addison explains. Sarah takes a random plate and mug, while Carson firmly examines each piece of chocolate cake. Addison and Meredith stay in there own little world, watching Carson be in his. They smile at the boy when he finally decides on a piece, then taking a mug filled with hot chocolate.
Addison then lets go of her wife and grabs two plates of cake, while Meredith grabs two mugs. They walk into the living room to see a movie being ready to start.
"What are we watching?" Addison asks as she sits next to Carson, Meredith sitting on the other side of Sarah.
"Cars, it was the only thing we could agree on," Sarah explains. She pushes the play button on the remote, then cuddles into her moms side. While Meredith and Sarah lay together, Carson eats his cake cuddled up to Addison.
Meredith throws Addison a loving look, as they look down at the kids, eating their cake, drinking their hot chocolate and watching the movie.

"I'll take him to bed," Addison tells Meredith as Carson sleeps on her left arm. Meredith nods as her and Sarah get up. They carry the dishes into the kitchen, while Addison carries the "to old boy to be carried up to his bedroom", up to his bedroom.
As Meredith and Sarah finish washing the dishes, they both head up to their own rooms. Meredith kisses Sarah's forehead in the hallway, telling her she loves her before they separate.
Addison finishes tucking Carson in, for the hundredth time in his life. She smiles as she turns off his light and exits the room. She walks down the hallway, stopping by Sarah's room. She stands by the doorframe, staring at the girl who lays in bed, day dreaming. Her bed side lamp still on.
Addison walks in the room and climbs in the bed with the girl, laying on the blankets. Sarah lays on her stomach, turning her head so she can see her step mom. Addison gives her a weak smile before pushing a strand of blonde hair out of her face.
"What's wrong?" Addison asks softly, not wanting to push things.
"I wish that I could stay here," the girl explains, letting a tear go from her brown eyes.
"What do you mean?" Addison asks in confusion.
"I wish I didn't have to go to Dad's. It's always a waste of time. Whenever we go there, he always gets busy with clients, telling us that people just need a lawyer. So Carson and I just stay at his house, watching TV. I just wish I could stay here with you guys," Sarah explains. Addison rubs her back as the girl lets out more tears.
Addison hesitates before speaking but does so anyways. "How about, I talk to mom, and I let her know that maybe if your dad wants to see you, he should come here? And we get something figured out with that?" Addison asks. The girl smiles weakly, nodding her head. They sit in silence before Sarah starts talking again.
"When you and Mom got married, I always wanted to ask you if you would ever leave Mom like Dad did. But now I know that you guys really love each other, and I just-" Sarah is taken over by tears again. Addison repositions herself, letting her arms welcome Sarah into her body. Addison kisses her forehead several times, letting Sarah regather herself. "I don't want to see Dad anymore because of what he did to Mom. I just want to be with my family... With my moms," Sarah explains after several minutes.
"I know, sweetie." Addison kisses her forehead again. "I-... Your mom is trying. She's trying, Sarah," Addison tells the girl.
"I know, Mom," Sarah tells Addison, calling her mom. Addison tries not to think too much of it, but does have a little smile on her face. Sarah takes a shaky deep breath in, sniffling afterwards.
"How about, you and I go into my bedroom, and we can watch another movie with Mom?" Addison suggest.
"That would be nice," Sarah replies, a weak smile appearing on her face. They both get up out of Sarah's bed. "It is okay if I call you mom, right?" Sarah asks just before they exit her bedroom.
"Of course!" Addison tells her softly, smiling. Sarah smiles and they start walking to Meredith and Addison's bedroom. When they enter they see Meredith already laying in bed, scrolling through Netflix on her TV.
"What's wrong?" Meredith asks, looking up to see Addison's hands placed on Sarah's shoulders, and Sarah's face damp.
"Sarah is going to join us tonight, and we are going to watch kid movies," Addison tells her wife, leading her into the bed. Meredith just smiles and scoots over, allowing her daughter and wife to climb in the bed. Meredith sits up a little bit, her daughter snuggling into her side. Addison lays next to Sarah, reaching over and kissing Meredith before they all 3 get comfortable in the bed.
"So, how about Zootopia?" Meredith asks, making both her daughter and wife laugh.
