As Shawn locks the window I begin to have a panic attack, Shawn notices and he pulls me under A secure table in the back. " Spencer what's wrong?" Shawn ask he rubs on my thigh trying to calm me down. I begin to fix my breathing at the feeling of his touch. "I-I Just get panic attacks when I'm very nervous" I say, Shawn looks down at me with a concerned look and it makes me feel like I'm being judged so I look away from him. All of a sudden the lights cut off, all of them. It's pretty dark there's no lights except light coming from the windows, and most of the windows are covered. I feel Shawn look at me from the corner of my eye, It's like he's expecting another panic attack but for some reason I feel safe. I look down at my hands and Shawn gently turns my head so I making contact with him. " Spencer don't be scared I'm sure it's just a drill". Shawn says holding my face in one hand. I look at his lips "yeah, maybe" I say still looking at his lips, Shawn still holds my face in one hand and then he lifts his other hand, now both of his hands are on my face. I start to blush and he lightly giggles. Shawn looks down at my lips and start to lean in but my phone was off.

I lean in one more time but the loudspeaker goes off " good afternoon LA private high , You just passed your first lockdown drill congratulations." All the lights come on, Shawn and I get up and walk up to the door he unlocks it. "Thanks mr.mendes." I say walking away to find Dani. "Boo bitch" Dani says as she scares me from behind, " not OK" I say to Dani as I start cracking up. " sorry S, but I gotta blast want a ride" Dani says still laughing. " No my dad is picking me up" I say. " well talk to you later" Dani says walking away. When Dani finally leaves I call my dad. It rings a few times the answers," Hey what's up?" My dad says regularly. " you were supposed to get me remember" I say madly. I swear he always forgets about me like come on,I'm the only child. " oh yeah sorry I completely forgot." He says. " sure" I say as I hang up the phone start walking to my locker. "Hey Spencer" a familiar voice says, I turn around and see Shawn. "Hi" I say shyly. " what you looking for?" Shawn says. " my umbrella" I say kind of pissed off. "Do you wanna ride me?" Shawn says nervously. "WHAT?" I say nearly dying from laughter. " shit, I meant do you wanna ride with me?" He says embarrassed. I look at my phone to see if my dad will change his mind,"yeah sure" I say as I start walking towards the teacher parking lot. Shawn ends up leading me to a black Jeep,"nice ride" I say. "Thanks" he says as he opens the passenger door "My pleasure" I say as I get into the car. Shawn gets in on the other side. " I live in Beverly Hills on Central Street" I tell Shawn. " all right you can connect your phone, it's Bluetooth" Shawn says starting the car. I connect my phone and play midnight city by M83. Shawn turns his head and looks at me, he smiles at me. The music cuts off my phone rings," hey mom" I say dryly. " hey I heard about the lockdown are you OK?" She says pretending to care. " yeah totally." I said in a sarcastic tone. " i'm not in the mood to argue, sorry I'm not there every second of your life I have a life too." I just look down embarrassed Shawn heard that. " your father and I are going to Canada for like two weeks, you're 17 you'll be fine on your own, invite company if you feel so lonely" my mom says before I can talk back she hangs up. " sorry you heard that" I say to Shawn. "it's fine" he says as he steers the Car his with his left hand and he places right hand on my thigh. " this is Central Street, my lady" Shawn says as I point to my house.

" thanks for the ride" I say as I open the car door. "Wait" shawn says before I step at the car. "What?" I say looking at Shawn and he gives me a kiss in on the cheek. "Um,can I have your number?" Shawn ask as I laugh because he seems so nervous. I put my hand out and he hands me his phone. I give it back. "Well see you at school tomorrow" Shawn says giving me one last kiss on the check.
