Shelby Williams

Ringing noises are released out of my phone. I itch my eyes and look at my phone another text message from Jamie. I groan. I put my phone down.

Bring my upper down, and cover my body with my bed sheets. I didn't have the courage to talk about what happen at the practice.

As I try to go back to my slumber.

Minutes past and past and then I was reawaken by more text alerts.

I finally decided to give up.

I bring my upper body up and bring my phone to my face. I scroll the through the text messages.

9:45

Jamie: Heyy what happen during practice the other day???

10:15

Ik your awake.. you always train early in the morning.

I thought to myself. I forgot to train today.

I look back to the text messages.

11:15

Jamie: Shelbby!!!! Ignoring your problems wont make them go away!!!

Wow, wasn't she right.

11:30

Jamie: I'll just get it out of you after conditioning today.

I froze. Conditioning starts at 12:00 today. I scan for the time on my phone.

11:45

Shit.

I'm never gonna make it. Of course my dad forgot to tell me and wake!

Because when you're freakin 15, you gotta be somewhat responsible.

I grab on my soccer outfit. And grab my bag and bike to practice.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Sadly enough I didn't make in time and had to run 10 laps around the feild,

And instead of driving me home, I was biking home.

Lucky me.

Throughout the whole practice, Jamie never slipped one word,

Until, it actually was over.

I then take off my shin guards and

Swap my cleats for nike free runs.

I grab my bag and began to bike.

"Shelby." I heard from the back of your head. I turn around to see Jamie.

"You wanna go to menchies?" Jamie says nicely.

"Sure." I reply back with a grin.

We both head to her mom's white mini van. Jamie then helps me place my stupid bike onto the trunk. After we finish with the bike, I and Jamie take the back seat.

I was so thankful that Jamie was one of those friends who sit in the back with you, unlike the my other friends who sat in the front seat. It always made those car rides a bit more awkward.

Perks of having Jamie as being your best friend.

We sit in the car ride talking about the occasional topic, soccer.

"Hey, I heard FIFA is coming soon.", Jamie's mom says with a thick Chinese accent.

Jamie's family is a full Chinese family. She doesn't have an accent but basically her whole family does. Her dad, mom, and even her brother and sisters. I always found it that trait about her odd, but I try to ignore it.
