My friends and I had been playing for a good 45 minutes and I was in last place with 12 points. Sad, I know. So anyway, I had gotten around five gutter balls at this point. My turn was coming up and I started to take a step forward and then bam, the bumpers went up.
The man working behind the counter had asked me three times prior if I wanted the bumpers and I smiled and said no every time.
I guess I was doing so bad that he took it upon himself to put up the bumpers so that I had a chance.
