Vader stood at the bridge of his Super Star Destroyer while all the other imperial officers scuttered around behind him. Although the other officers knew where they were going, Vader was the only one who knew who he was meeting. "My Lord, we're approaching the Eclipse now." The Destroyer fell out of hyperspace. In the distance, there was a Star, shining bright and bold.
Yet in front of the star, there was a large, black patch covering the central belt of it. Vader knew what it was, The Eclipse. The largest ship ever to be built amongst the Imperial ranks. Larger than a Super Star Destroyer, capable of destroying entire fleets. Aboard that ship, sitting on his throne, was the man in charge of the galaxy. Emperor Palpatine himself.
The Super Star Destroyer made its way slowly to the Eclipse and docked at its side. The massiveness of the ship made the Executor look like a regular Star Destroyer. Once Vader had arrived on the ship, he made his way to the Emperors throne room, located on the bottom level. All the Imperials here were high ranking, unlike the ones on other Imperial ships.
Even the stormtroopers were of the higher battalions. "Lord Vader," he turned to see Grand Admiral Thrawn standing behind him as he was about to enter the lift. "Have you been summoned t the Emperor, too?" His voice seemed off, slightly shaky, as if he was nervous about something, but he still attempted to keep his calm, threatening demeanour with him.
Vader stayed silent and turned back round as the lift opened. He and Thrawn stepped inside, you could've cut the tension with a knife. Vader could feel Thrawns anxiousness, his heart was beating faster than normal. Eventually, they got to the bottom floor, and stepped out into the gun metal grey corridor that led to a large black door at the end of the hallway.
Guarding the door, were two red-cloaked imperial Guards. Standing straight and dignified, their force pikes by their sides. Vader was the first to start walking towards them while Thrawn followed closely behind. They stopped as they got to the guards. Vader said something in a different language Thrawn didn't understand, but the guards complied with whatever he said and the doors opened.
When they stepped through they were standing inside a large, dark hall, with steps leading up to a second floor. Once they got to the top of the steps, they saw a throne, overlooking the star the Eclipse was situated next to through a large, circular window. The two of them kneeled before the throne, Vader being the first. The throne turned round slowly, and revealed a cloaked figure.
His face was a sickly grey and covered in deep wrinkles, his eyes a deep orange. He got up out of the throne and raised his arm, "rise, my friend." His voice was croaky, levelled with age, yet it had a deep power embedded inside it. Vader rose from the ground but Thrawn stayed down. "And you, Grand Admiral," he finished. Thrawn lifted himself from the floor.
"What is thy bidding, my master?" Vader asked, looking down at the Emperor, has he towered over him. "Thy bidding, you ask? Well, first of all I would like you to relieve the Grand Admirals head from his shoulders." Thrawns eyes widened, he knew he had been summoned for punishment, but he never imagined death. He began to run back to the door.
But he was too slow, before he could even make the steps, Vader reached out with the Force and froze his body. Turning his hand, Thrawn twisted back round, his feet lifting from the ground. Vader pulled and soon Thrawn was on his knees before him. "My Emperor, please! I beg of you, show mercy!" The Emperor gave him a haunting grin. "You shall have it," he replied.
Vader ignited his lightsaber, raising it above his head, then swooping down with it. "Nooo-" Thrawn was cut off as the crimson blade sliced threw his neck, his head tumbling to the ground. He retracted his saber and hooked it back to his belt. "Guards!" The Emperor called, and the two Imperial Guards Who we're standing at the doorway came through and took the body away.
"Now then, Lord Vader. I must congratulate you." Vader stood still, unsure of what the Emperor was talking about. "I... do not understand, master." The Emperor grinned again, "Oh, I'm sure you do. Your efforts to deceive me are... admirable. However, did you really think you could train the Bridger boy without me finding out?" Vader's heart started beating faster.
He slowly reached for his lightsaber again. "Yes... I can feel your fear, Skywalker's. It is... strong... and you are right to fear, for now you will know the true meaning of the dark side." His lightsaber ignited, although it came a fraction too late. lighting flew from Palpatine's finger tips, hitting Vader straight in the chest before he could deflect it.
The lightsaber flew from his robotic grip as he fell to his knees, his breathing replaced by an asthmatic wheeze. "Now... I do expect that you will obey my command from this point forward." Vader stayed silent for a moment, catching his breath, but then he spoke. "Yes... my master."
He got back up as the Emperor sat back down in his throne and turned back round to the window.
Vader went to stand by his side, which took more effort for him that it should have, his robotic joints ached. The Emperor pressed a button on the arm of his throne, there was some static, and then he spoke.
"Captain Sarkli."
"My liege?"
"Take your forces, find the Bridger boy and bring him back to me."Ok, so a shorter chapter this time round. I just wanted to make sure I got the Emperor spot on. I had a feeling that if I went over a thousand I wouldn't have been able to keep the Emperors character straight.
