Warning: there are kind of, sort of spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the following chapter...

"Ezra..." Sabine's voice was shaky as she realised who I had been talking to to. "Who was that?" I looked at her with wide eyes. "Do I have to say his name?" Slowly, she came back to sit down next to me and took a deep breath. "Right, we need to get back to the Rebellion, any idea where their base is?" I shook my head, "I thought you knew." She hit the control console, "damnit."
Suddenly, the ship fell out of hyperspace taking us both by surprise. "What the-" it then turned to a different direction in the emptiness of space and jumped straight back into hyperspace. Confused by what had just happened, we played around with the controls, trying to revert back to our original course but nothing was responding. "Ezra, whats happening?"
"This isn't me," I replied. Then, I heard a voice in my mind, old, decrepit, sinister. It oozed with the Dark Side, I had never felt anything so powerful before.

"Follow the path and it will lead you home."

That line should've comforted me, so why did it make me shiver? Then, I felt a deep surge beneath my skin, the Force was trying to warn me of something, but I had no idea of what it was. I had no idea of where we were going, but suddenly the ship jerked lightly as the stars became visible again upon the ship falling out of hyperspace, and in the distance, we saw a planet.
"Where are we?" Sabine asked, the look on her face showing she was anxious. "I have absolutely no idea." Then, without warning, a sharp pain Pierced through my skull, making me shudder and scream, "Ah!" Something forced my head back into the chair, and then I heard that voice again. "You will be my anchor, Ezra Bridger. When my apprentice kills me, you will be what anchors my soul to the galaxy." Then, I didn't have control over my body anymore, and I just kept flying the ship towards the planet.
"Era? Ezra!" I could hear Sabine, calling my name, but I just sat straight looking to the distance.

His eyes... they were black, his face expressionless. I watched helplessly as the ship flew closer to the char coal coloured planet. Eventually, the ship sat down in the rocky surface, with no signs of life in site. Ezra just got up from the pilots seat and off the ship down to the surface.

"Pathetic Child."

Seeing as I had no other plans, I followed him. "Ezra we have to get back to the fleet, they need our help!" Again, he ignored me. "What the hell is going on inside that thick skull of yours?!" He just kept walking and walking, until we reached a smooth, metal platform in the ground. He stood in the middle, while I stood next to him, he didn't even acknowledge my existence.
Suddenly, with a shudder, the platform started to move downwards beneath the rock. The lower down we went, the warmer it became until I started sweating in my armour. I tapped Ezra on the shoulder, but he took no notice of me, his eyes were still black. Nervous thoughts flashed through my mind, who was doing this? Was it the same person that was giving me these visions?
Eventually the platform reached the ground, we were standing in the middle of an enormous cavern. We turned until we saw an empty throne carved into the rock. To the side of the throne, there was a stand on the wall holding what looked like a lightsaber hilt. Although I had never seen any lightsaber like it before.

"I cannot be betrayed."

Ezra began to make his way to the throne, until I clamped my hand on his shoulder, making him stop. At first he was silent, then, out of nowhere, he swung his arm back, his fist impacting on my cheek, making me fly backwards. I landed on the hard rock ground right next to a stream of lava. "Ezra what the hell are you doing?" He ignited both his lightsabers.
The crimson glow reflecting off the rocks around us. I ignited the Darksaber, and readied myself in a battle stance. "You think you can beat me?" He sneered, although there was something else to his voice... as if someone else was speaking underneath it. It was low, raspy. He jumped several feet in the air towards me, bringing the saber down hard to clash with mine.
All of a sudden, he had grown abnormally strong. I could barely hold the lock, all the while he attempted to force me back into the lava stream behind me. I broke the lock and rolled to the side, making Ezra wobble at the side of the stream, but he managed to regain his balance. "Your fried is gone." The lower voice was more prominent now, someone had possessed him.

"I cannot be beaten."

How in Mandalore's name was this even possible? We were the only two life forms on the planet. He started walking towards me again. "Ezra, you've got to listen to me! Someone's taken over your mind, you have to fight it!" He swung at me, and I dodged by jumping to the left. "He cannot year you, young Mandalorian. Ezra Bridger is dead." I swung my own blade at him, but he blocked, locking his sabers in a cross.

"I see his mind."

I jumped back, there was nothing I could do. He was too strong, and I didn't want to kill him. I retracted the Darksaber and threw it to the ground, hoping he would come to his senses. "I'm not going to fight you, Ezra." He looked at me, retracting his lightsabers. And for a moment I thought I saw the blue come back to his eyes, his face softening. Maybe he wasn't gone, after all.

"I see his every intent."

He walked slowly towards me, which made my heart beat faster. "You can fight it Ezra, you can push back." He stopped, his face became pained, reaching his arm out to me, he spoke one last time. "Sabine, help me." And after that, his eyes became black again, and Ezra was gone. The arm that was reached out opened, and the force froze me in place. I tried to move, but I couldn't.

"Yes... I see him turning the lightsaber to strike true."

He began to walk towards me calmly, tears welled in my eyes when I realised that Ezra was gone. "Who are you?" I demanded, but he was silent until he was standing right in front of me. "Your end." This time, it was Ezra's voice who was more prominent, which made it hurt even more. He unhooked one of his lightsabers from his belt, and rose it up ready to strike down.

"And now... foolish child. He ignites it, and kills his true enemy!"

The blade ignited, and the saber came flying down, striking me across the chest. Leaving a searing hot pain, making me scream. Soon, the pain faded and I could begin to feel my heart beat slow down and my consciousness begin to leave me. I wasn't ready to die, not yet... Before I fell over, I managed to say one more thing with my dying breath.

"Ezra... I'm sorry."

But I got nothing in response, Ezra's eyes were pitch black. And when I saw the way he looked at me... I knew he was gone.

So yeah, uh, the next chapter is kind of the last instalment in this book. I know this may have seemed a bit weird but I wanted to try something different this time round.
