Her sleep is disturbed by the shifting of the door but she doesn't even budge. She moans her complaints, unaware she is blocking the door before her soft snores fill the silence.
"Willow?" His voice is a whisper, and she barely stirs.
His intimidating shadow hovers over her.
Luca leans down to her level, staring at his girl darkened by the morning hours. He notices the pinkish swelling under her eyes and the sticky tracks down her cheeks are still wet from tears. His heart sinks and his stomach turns. The heavy bruising on his face burns, anger running through his veins. The frustration, guilt. The hurt. He did this. He destroyed her happiness, her confidence, the hopeful glint in her blue eyes.
His fists itched for something to smash, tender flesh against palpable material. The twitch in his bruised knuckles couldn't be tamed. Carefully pushing through the slit in the door, he escaped without waking her. His fists made contact with the first object in his way, which happened to be his truck. He attacked the truck with the ferocity of a raging bull. Each hit stood for something more as he counted the reasons.
One... Ruining the only good thing in his life.
Two... Doing the very thing he said he'd never do.
Three...Destroying her innocence.
Four... Broken promises.
Five...Every moment he has taken her for granted.
Six...Letting the devil inside have his way with her.
Seven... that bastard for creating the monster he'd become.
Eight...for everytime that bastard laid...
He was interrupted amid his destruction by the sound of her broken voice.
"Take me somewhere. Somewhere far, far away. Where there is no pain or sorrow. Take me away." The strain in her voice had him weak in his knees.
"That's all I need. Hit me, use my body however you see fit, just take me away. That's all I ask, all I need." The desperation in her dead eyes spoke to his soul in such a way.
"I won't." And just like that he was gone, driving away. Her tears floated to the dirt, the cold morning air numbing her cheeks.
The dark embraced her like a cloak of disguise. She stood there for what felt like an eternity but in real time it was a mere five minutes until she lifelessly walked back to her abandoned house.

She jumped up from the steps as soon as he was out the front door of his house.
"I'm sorry." She bombarded him.
"I don't want to talk to you." His voice was gruff and grainy.
She trailed behind him as he threw his duffel on the bed of his truck.
