"Seven-thirty?" Emilia questioned her dazed friend.
Willow instantly turned her fleeting attention to the crazy girl beside her as they suffered through chemistry together. The teacher droned on and on about chemical bonding and it took effort to try and listen to monotone for such a long period of time. The effort was lost on Willow as her mind drifted to what her mother had in store for evening plans.
For once she actually made it to breakfast but the attempt was all in vain. Before she could even get a bite of fruit in her mouth, her mother managed to slide in an ambush.
"Will, can you manage to be on time tonight? Catalina and Luca are coming over for dinner. If you're going to be late, don't bother coming home." She didn't even spare a glance at Willow's reaction, being too busy nose first in the sports section.
"It won't be a problem." And it honestly wouldn't be a problem.
Her tone was cold enough to freeze water. The irony could be sickening. She wouldn't be late tonight.
The monster was coming to her.
"Willa, babe? Anybody home in that secluded head of yours?" Emilia's hand was waving frantically in her view.
She instantly swatted away her childish friend, turning her face to the old chalkboard in front.
"What?" She sounded airy as her attention wavered.
"A small gathering at the Shockmen's. Seven-thirty an ok time to pick you up?" The question didn't register until the final bell rang.
"Read chapter ten in your Chem book for homework. Dismissed." Mr. Reid announced trying to regain partial control over his dismissive students.
They both rushed to collect their things to escape the clutches of school. One day until Friday, two till the treasured weekend; an excitement Willow couldn't find enthusiasm for.
Exiting chem, they slowed to the speed of the crowd before Willow could answer.
"Can't tonight. Plans, you know?" She felt the need to cower.
She hated disappointing Emilia.
"I see." The dreaded two syllable answer could not be worse.
"Catalina and Luca are coming over for dinner."
A second hatred formed.
She always wondered how Luca could even look her mother in the eye and have the nerve to smile like the shit between them had never occurred. Willow was infuriated and slightly envious. The ability to turn off all humanity in his soul.
He is a snake, a sly sociopath.
"Oh. That explains it. Luca is one fine specimen. All that muscle? I am salivating at the mere mention."
"Disgusting."
"Such a prude. His body is a gift from God to the female population. The complete eye-candy package. Those dreamy sex eyes and shoulders broader than my future." Emilia's ocean eyes glazed over with lust.
"Feel free to stop at any time. I truly mean that." This whole discussion was nauseating to Willow.
"Shit. Have you seen the size of his hands? His di-..."
"Shut-up! No more about Luca, please."
"Touchy." The pastel purple-haired vixen mused at her best friend.
