When I Met You

Chapter 4:

Chapter 4

I woke up on the sofa covered in a blanket, to the smell of coffee.

"Morning," Dee said while making breakfast.

"Morning," i replied. i had some morning breath that needed to be taken care of.

"Wheres your restroom?" i asked.

"first door, around the corner. i set a toothbrush on the sink for you," she answered, reading my thoughts. i walked into the bathroom, finding a toothbrush on the sink as she promised.

after i was finished brushing my teeth, i went to the kitchen to help Dee with breakfast. we sat and ate together, while deciding where we would go today. suddenly, my phone started ringing. it read "Dad" in the screen. Dee looked at the phone, then up at me.

"Answer and put it on speaker," she said. i did as i was told.

me: hello

dad: where are you?

me: none of your business

dad: it is my business. you cant hide for long. we both know I'll find you, and when I do, oh, the things i will do to you.

I hung up quickly after that, terrified. my eyes started watering.

"hey, dont worry, you can stay here until we find you a place to stay. he wont find you, trust me," Dee told me.

"omg, thank you so much,"i said, crying and hugging her. i was so thankful for having her as a friend. but did it cross my mind that i hardly knew her? how did i know i could trust her? either way, i had no choice but to trust her since i had no where to stay. shes been a good friend so far, im sure i could rely on her. i should stop doubting her.

"Lycia," she called. just then did i realize i was staring into space for a while, with her staring at me. we both started laughing.

"hey, lets watch a movie," she suggested.

"okay," i agreed. she turned on the TV and the hilarious movie "The other Woman" was on. We watched while laughing at the funny parts and crying at the sad parts, till we both fell asleep from exhaustion.
