**Somewhere in the woods**

Kol's voice hits my ears as Elijah and I catch up with his siblings in the woods outside of New Orleans.

"I admit, I do like a good chase. However, I am quite famished so," Kol proceeds to feed off of a human in his lap, causing that human to scream in pain.

Oh my god, I did not miss Kol, I think to myself.

Bunches of corpses lay on the ground around Rebekah and Kol, while another woman stands there looking disgusted. Elijah smiles at me apologetically before he too sits on the ground and pulls a fresh corpse of a prison guard onto his lap to feed.

I stand there awkwardly, before Rebekah spots me from her spot on the ground. In a flash I'm pulled into a crushing hug, the blonde nearly snapping my spine in an effort to be close to me.

"Debria! Oh when Freya woke Kol and I, she told us Elijah called and explained what happened. How you are back! Im so happy to see you," Rebekah speaks quickly into my hair.

I hug her back as well, missing the blonde just as much as she missed me,

"I am back, I have no idea how though. Elijah filled me in, you had a curse in you?"

She pulls away from our hug, and smiles,

"Yes, and Kol had un-curable werewolf toxin in him, so Freya put both of us in a five year slumber to give Elijah time to find cures for everything."

The man Kol has been feeding from has been screaming throughout this entire exchange, causing me to flinch now at the sound.

Rebekah looks over to her younger brother,

"Good lord, that one has some lungs on him. He should've been an opera singer. Might've ended better for him, actually."

"Is this absolutely necessary?" Freya finally snaps at the siblings as she's rummaging through her bag, and she looks up at me, her eyes kind,

"I'm Freya, it's nice to finally meet my niece's mother."

I smile at her,

"Thank you for all your help, Freya. Elijah filled me in on everything I've missed the last even years, I know Dalia wanted Hope, and you finally escaped her yourself."

Kol looks up from the body that is still screaming in his arms,

"That depends, Freya. Do you want us at our full strength, or do you plan on rescuing Nik on your own?"

"Well, death rattles are distracting, and I'm about to try and break a cloaking spell," Freya says as she lays out some witchy materials in front of on the ground.

Elijah perks up from the corpse he was finishing off,

"Kol, would you please?!"

Another second passes before there's a snap, and the screaming it cut off.

"Thank you. You were saying, Freya?"Elijah asks his older sister, discarding the body he was holding onto the ground.

Freya nods,

"I can sense. Klaus is still in New Orleans. Most likely somewhere underground. I can't get a read on exactly where, unless I'm in the city itself."

Elijah looks at all of us before address Freya again,

"Yeah. That's gonna be a problem. I have contacts in New Orleans. As you can imagine, the place is crawling with vampires, all of whom hate all of us. Whatever we do, we need to do it fast."
