Last night Freya explained to me that Dominic had the name of a werewolf bloodline: Apisi.

They were entrusted to be the guardians of a bone. Freya told me that she has been tracking the lineage and the last of the modern family died a couple years ago, under dubious circumstances.

But then showed me a picture of my brother, Tyler Lockwood.
Sighing I rubbed my temples at the evidence on the computer screen,

"So the bones are in Mystic Falls."

----

"You need to relax. I'm on my way to New Orleans right now. And I have good news. I went through the remains of the Lockwood estate, and I found you one creepy-ass, ancient finger bone," Stefan says through the receiver.

Groaning in annoyance, I grit my teeth,

"Your efforts are appreciated. Now, if you could only pick up the pace."

"Easy, Debria. The only reason I'm heading your way is because I don't want Klaus anywhere near Mystic Falls. Things tend to get murder-y when he's around," Stefan chuckles.

"Well, that's a fair point. Now, Stefan, if our pleasantries have run their course..," I trail off, knowing he didn't really want to talk to me.

Stefan pauses before adding,

"Oh, hey, listen, one more thing. Your family, they didn't just safeguard the bone... They kept records with names, dates and locations. Turns out they had knowledge of other families that were charged with guarding the rest of the remains. Now, does the name Keys mean anything to you?"

My heart seems to stop, and I breathe out my response,

"It's familiar, yeah."

"Well, good," Stefan chuckles, I hear another male voice say something to Stefan but I can't make it out before Stefan continues,

"That might be a lead to help you find the rest of the remains. Which you'll have to do yourself, because my days of fighting monsters are over. Okay, so here's the deal. I will be at Jack's Bar-B-Q Shack off Route 59 until 2:00-o-clock. If you're not there by 2:10, I chuck the bone and the records in a Dumpster and I'm gone. And then you can fish them out of the trash yourself."

Niklaus comes up from behind me and snatches the phone from me,

"Well, I'm afraid she will be otherwise occupied, so you'll be meeting Elijah. And if, perchance, he's running late, I suggest you exercise some patience and have yourself a beer. Otherwise, you'll have a few more monsters to worry about. Good day, Stefan."

Niklaus ends the phone call and I look up at him in shock.

"We have plans?" I ask him.

He nods, a frown on his face,

"Hope heard voices from the ancestors. She said they wanted to talk to you at St. Anne's church."

I stand up from the table and lean up, pressing a kiss to his lips,

"Well I better go then, keep an eye on Hope?"

Niklaus grabs my face in his hands,

"No, I'm going with you. Don't even bother arguing."

"Stefan mentioned my dead husband's last name, Keys," I tell him, worry lacing my voice,

"I'm uneasy about how the lycanthropes even play a part in this type of magic."

----

Niklaus holds my hand as we walk hand in hand inside the church.
