That Thing Called Moving On (Part One)

(Inspired from readers' prompt and from the movie That Thing Called Tadhana)

"Ma'am Catherine excuse me po, dumating na po yung alaga ko, mukhang in good mood" Manang Lita excitedly said.

" Thank you Manang, hmm good mood, bakit kaya?"

"Hello Mom, sorry I'am way too late for lunch and here is for you, your favourite box of chocolates and for you Manang your favourite Mrs Fields Cocoloate Chips Cookies".

"Ang sweet talaga na alaga ko gusto ako magka diabetes. Salamat, o sya i-init ko lang muna yung paborito mong ulam, sinigang na hipon."

"Thank you po Manang..may sili, calamansi at patis on the side please."

"You don't need to do this, bringing me chocolates Edward, but thank you. How was your trip? How are you?"

"Edward looked at his mother and thought he was asked the same question by Maymay Kamusta Ka Na?"

Edward gave his mother a warm hug and sincerely stated " I've never felt better Mom, I miss you, I miss this place, Dad and Ate Laura. By the way where they?"

Catherine was a bit surprised by her son's jovial mood but was happy that he is feeling that way.

"Well Dad is at the flower farm and Laura is at the flower shop. But they will be home earlier because we will be going to the fundraising concert this evening at the Convent."

"I am coming with you. Fr Archie and Mother Beatrice mentioned that concert and I have actually heard the choir practiced awhile back, they are pretty good, magaling sila."

Catherine is now noticing that there is something new in her son, but could not exactly pinpoint what she is seeing and hearing from him.

"Are you sure? It is a little community gathering, but you are use to a much bigger or grander gatherings."

Edward thought "No Mom, because Rose like those things and I was there to be with her?"

"I miss the local scene too Mom, as I have told you, I've heard the choir and the soloist, Maymay, they are really good, she's, she's, she is pretty...good"

Catherine saw her son's eyes were smiling.

Manang Lita then called Edward for lunch.

Catherine approached Manang Lita and said " Tama po kayo Manang, good mood nga alaga mo, ano kaya nakain nun?"

"Baka in-love na Ma'am" Manang Lita giddily said.

"Hay naku Manang, sana nga."

Both women heartily laughed of what they just said and Edward while having his meal saw them and said " I know what you two are talking about but sorry too dissapoint you but I am not." But in his mind "Not yet." Edward enjoyed his meal as if this was the first time he tasted sinigang.

Edward visited Laura at her flower shop who was very happy to see her brother.

"Oh hello there stranger, what can I do for you, do you want to place an order for a special occassion for a special person?"
