Oh no Amanda thought to herself.
Chorus
Amanda loved to sing, don't get her wrong. The only problem is that she doesn't like to sing in front of people. Amanda isn't very shy, she's very outspoken. She's shy when it comes to certain things. The biggest example is singing.
"Alright class." Mr. Carrier said. She is the chorus teacher. "We will start with simple vocal exercises and then move into the competition."
"COMPETITION?!" Amanda nearly shouted. "Yes competition Ms.John. We will see who the best singer is. They will be the lead in this years musical." "What is the musical?" "The musical is school-written. We decided that it will be about a girl discovering her feeling towards her best guy friend."
Great, how cheesy Amanda told herself.
"First up is Mr. Alexander." Ms.Carrier said.
Zack walked to the front of the classroom and picked his song. As soon as he started singing, Amanda knew he would get the male lead. His voice was amazing. He could go up and down as he pleased. When he finished, everyone clapped loudly.
"Thank you Mr. Alexander. Now next up is Ms. John."
Oh no
Amanda stood up and walked to the front of the classroom. She chose the song House Of Memories by Panic! At The Disco, one of her all time favorite songs. She inhaled deeply You can do this. Just don't overthink it. She exhaled and turned around to face the classroom.

If you're a lover, you should know
The lonely moments just get lonelier
The longer you're in love
Than if you were alone
Memories turn into daydreams become a taboo
I don't want to be afraid
The deeper that I go
It takes my breath away
Soft hearts electric souls
Heart to heart and eyes to eyes
Is this taboo?
Baby we built this house
On memories
Take my picture now
Shake it til you see it
And when your fantasies
Become your legacy
Promise me a place
In your house of memories

Second verse, let's go Amanda mentally told herself

I think of you from time to time
More than I thought I would
You were just too kind
And I was too young to know
That's all that really matters
I was a fool
Baby we built this house
On memories
Take my picture now
Shake it til you see it
And when your fantasies
Become your legacy
Promise me a place
In your house of memories

Those thoughts of past lovers
They'll always haunt me
I wish I could believe
You'd never wrong me
Then will you remember
Me in the same way
As I remember you
Baby we built this house
On memories
Take my picture now
Shake it til you see it
And when your fantasies
Become your legacy
Promise me a place
Baby we built this house
On memories
Take my picture now
Shake it til you see it
And when your fantasies
Become your legacy
Promise me a place
In your house of memories

The song ended, and no one moved. You could  hear everyone breathing.
Zack was the first to clap. He started clapping, then Kylee joined in. Next thing you know, the whole class is clapping!
"Well done Ms. John! I could be wrong, but you are the most talented singer ever!" Ms.Carrier said.
Amanda sat down and slouched. She was so nervous, and was expecting everyone to throw tomatoes at her, although she doesn't know where tomatoes would even come from.
After everyone went, they dismissed class.
"You were amazing, I know Ms.Carrier is going to pick you for the musical." Zack told her. Amanda sighed and said "I know." "What's wrong?" Kylee asked. "You know how shy I am when it comes to singing. I could barely manage to sing in front of the classroom. Now I might have to sing in front of the whole school!" Amanda explained. Zack stepped in front of Amanda causing her to bump into him. "Listen to me." He said "You are going to be amazing up there. You are very talented, and that won't change on opening night." Zack said. "Thanks Zack." Amanda said. "Now let's get you to class!" Zack said right before he put Amanda on his back and ran her all the way to math. "Zack, put me down!" Amanda said in between giggles. "Lets go." Kylee said. They walked in and sat down. The whole day passed by and they joked and got in trouble plenty times. It was time to go home and Amanda was walking to the car riders place.
"Amanda! Wait up." Ms.Carrier ran down he hall to catch up to her. "Give this to your parents, it's a letter saying you got the lead role in the musical!" Ms.Carrier told her. Amanda said thanks and shoves it down her book bag. Her mom picked her up. "How was school sweetie?" "Good I guess. They told me to give you this." Amanda handed her the letter. Her mom gasped in amazement. "Oh my Amanda! I'm so proud of you! Hopefully this will bring out your inner girl!" Amanda rolled her eyes when she said that. She hates how everyone judges her because she likes to wear jeans. Amanda decided to text Kylee

Kylee

Me:
I got the female lead in the musical

Kylee:
That's great! Zack got the male lead.

Amanda looked up and saw that they were home. She plopped onto her bed and just laid there thinking. She didn't want to sing, especially to thousand of people. Since there school is very popular, many people attend the musical every year.

"This year is off to a great start."
