Riding

Today's Sunday and I have a clear schedule, so I asked mom and dad if we could go horse riding in the forest, they were a bit hesitant, but they said yes...

By the way, my tenth birthday is a month away.

My maid Anne quickly got me changed into a silky blue dress that stopped at my knees and my horse riding boots. She then did my hair in a French plait and quickly led me downstairs to wear my parents were waiting.

"Ah, my beautiful daughter
... you'll make a fine queen someday" said my father. To which my mother responded
"The finest in all the world " with a proud smile on her face.

I smiled back, held their hands and we walked to the stables...

When we got there, our horses were all saddled and waiting for us...

My horse's name is Maximus. He's a white Stallion. He's a great horse...

After we all mounted, we began our ride through the forest...

Halfway through, my horse started to act all crazy... So did mom and dad's. They smelled something. And funny, I did too...

It wasn't a very strong odour... But another animal.... Like... a snake....

"I think there's a snake somewhere " I whispered to them...

"How do you know? " my father asked.
" I can smell it " I said.

I hoped off my horse and began looking around...

"Bella no! " my mom whisper yelled...

But I kept going. I saw a slight movement coming from under some leaves. I tried to run and fell then all of a sudden the snake launched after me. My mom screamed, and my dad jumped off his horse and ran towards me unsheathing his sword...

I had managed to grab the snake and I screamed when the it shot venom in my face. I then heard the sound of my dad's sword slashing something and warm liquid splashing on my face. He killed the snake.

I wiped at my face then tried to open my eyes. When I did I felt a searing pain ripping across my head and I couldn't see anything. I began crying and my dad picked me up telling me it was going to be ok.

He placed me on his horse and all of us rode back with my horse in tow.
