Zach Herron~ Lost Boy

Chapter 1

Packing is probably the worst part of this whole trip, don't get me wrong I love going to tropical places, I just hate packing for them.

All the seniors in my grade thought going on a trip like this would be the last experience we should all have together before never seeing each other again. I was more than willing to go cuz I needed a break like this, especially for (y/f/n). She always stresses the most about the future and graduating from high school wasn't helping. So this trip is a distraction for both of us, which couldn't be any better.

Everyone met at the airport so we could fly to our first destination which was Puerto Rico. The airport was packed full of the whole senior class I couldn't even see where (y/f/n) was at first.

"(Y/n)! (Y/n)! I'm over here!" Yelled (y/f/n) waving her hands back and forth. "I'm coming!" I Yelled back. It took a bit of shoving to get to her but we were able to get on the plane together and relax until we made it to Puerto Rico. I'm not gonna lie, the anticipation was killing me. I wanted to get there already and not wait, my energy was so high I just needed to walk around. So bathroom trip it is!

Since the plane was dim to make sleeping easier for everyone I didn't notice Zach Herron getting up from his seat and out into the aisle, causing us to run into each other. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't see you." I Said giving him room. "Oh no you are fine, don't worry about it." He said smiling at me. "Okay," I said awkwardly rushing to the bathroom. Zach was probably one of the most attractive guys at our school, and he was known for being kinda of a bully too, except when it came to his girlfriends. He treated all of his girlfriends like royalty, which made girls want him even more. And I couldn't blame them, who wouldn't want to be able to control a bad boy that was willing to do anything for you.

After taking a minute to refresh in the bathroom I went back to my seat and tried to fall asleep to pass some time, which (y/f/n) had no problem doing.

I woke I'm guessing the next day with the sun shining thro our window, I didn't know when I fell asleep but I'm happy I did. "Morning sleepy head, we are almost there! I'm honestly so excited." (Y/f/n) said. "Me too, I just want to get off this plane already." I said running my eyes trying to wake up. "I agree.......(y/n)?" She said getting quiet. "What?" I Said yawning. "Umm, why is Zach constantly looking back at us, or at least you." She said sliding a little farther down her chair hiding. "What the fuck do you mean?" I said looking over at Zach's seat and sure enough he was looking straight at both of us. It was a soft look and a smile he gave both of us, making me hella confused yet weak inside. "I accidentally ran into him last night, but that wasn't anything big tho."
I said confused. "Well, he obviously has a thing for us, so whatever you did last night he can't stop thinking about it." She said hitting my arm. "I told you nothing happened!" I Said hitting her back.

Thankfully we made it to Puerto Rico safe before we made a scene on the plane. Everyone was given the hotel and room number assigned to them and we all unpacked and settled in. (Y/f/n) and I requested for us to have the same room so we could enjoy each other's loud and obnoxious personality the whole trip. "So where are we going first now that we made it?" I asked unpacking. "We should be going to Isla Palominos first, at least that's what it says on the planner. We have to take the cruise ship there tho." She said looking at the agenda everyone got. "Okay lets get ready!" I said excited.

(Y/f/n) and I went to the cruise ship as well as the rest of the grade and the ship left to take us to Isla Palominos. "I can't believe we are actually on this amazing trip, I wish it never ends," (y/f/n) said. "It barely even started." I said laughing. "I know but still, I'm just so happy we could do this together." She said leaning against the railing. "Me too." I Said looking at the ocean in front of us. It was a beautiful light blue and clear as the sky, absolutely beautiful.

My moment was ruined however. "A storm seems to be coming quickly from the west, the cruise ship has no choice but to turn around. The trip to Isla Palominos will be rescheduled to tomorrow." The lady said over the loud speaker. "Are you serious!" Yelled (y/f/n) as well as everyone on the ship. "I can't believe this shit! Why can't everything go as planned!?" She said frustrated. "It's us, what do you expect!" I said laughing to lighten the mood. It was then I saw just how bad the storm actually was, I turned and saw black clouds looming towards us. The waves started to increase in speed and size making the cruise ship rock. Lighting was crashing all around us and rain poured from the clouds. "Shit this isn't good!" I Yelled to (y/f/n). "No shit, this fucking ship might be the next titanic if we don't leave!" She Yelled back getting scared. And she was right, the ship wasn't making any progress and we were being thrown like a rag doll by the waves. "Let's go to the rafts! We have to paddle out!" Yelled Zach coming out of no where. He ran to the raft boat with his friends, Daniel, and Jonah, following behind him. "(Y/n)! (Y/f/n)! Come on get on!" Zach yelled to us. "Come on (y/f/n)! Let's get on!" I Yelled. "Okay, I have to get the extra food supply at the dock I'll come as soon as I get it!" She said leaving. "Okay!" I Said and ran to the raft. Everyone was to frantic and loud to listen to the speaker telling everyone to go to the raft boats. The only people that heard the speaker was Zach and he only told his friends and us. I thought for sure people would get the hint and do the same. I saw (y/f/n) coming from the distance towards the raft she was practically running, but a huge breeze hit the ship causing the raft boats the all drop. "Nooooo!" I screamed reaching for (y/f/n). "(Y/n)! Noooo!" She screamed running to the now empty spot. I could still hear her screaming from the top of the ship as she was trying to find a way to us, but she couldn't. "Shit! Why did it drop so easily!" I Said tearing up. All the boys tried comforting me but it was impossible. "Hey, come here. Don't think about it, I'm sure they have more rafts and everything is okay," Zach said opening his arms letting me put my head on his chest while he held me. The current pulled us farther away from the ship, and we couldn't do anything about it since we lost the paddles when the raft dropped. The boys were all talking to each other about what they were going to do but I fell asleep on Zach too upset to think about will happen next.
