Kinsley Pov
After the day's over, me and Easton head to our lockers.
"Hey Easton, did you know that there was a dance tonight?" I ask my new friend as we grab our backpacks.
"Yeah, I heard. But I'm not a dancer." He replies super chill.
"Would you want to hang with me? Like friend wise, since yoh don't know anyone else." I say, as we're walking out of the school.
"Sure. But I need to walk straight home." Easton says, looking at me with his green orbs.
"Okay, see you then." I reply as we part ways.
~~MAGICAL 2 HOUR TIME SKIP~~
As soon as I place my beanie on my head, I get a text from Easton.
E: You ready?
K: Yeah, I'm heading to the school now. It's gonna take me a little bit tho, cause I'm in high heels.
E: I'll meet you halfway, so I can carry you. How's that sound?
K: sound good
I then start the walk to the halfway to school point. Easton's cool and super sweet, I just hope that Ryker and Jonathan don't get over protective. When I arrive at the halfway point, I see Easton sitting on a bench.
"Do you ever take off that beanie?" He asks, once he sees me.
"Not a whole lot." I say, walking over to him. Easton just chuckles. I jump on his back and yell "Onward my noble steed!" Like a battle cry. Easton laughs, and oh my sugar'n spice, his laugh could soften even the toughest heart. When we arrive at the school 5 mintes later, I hear Ryker yell
"PDA!"
"Shut up Ryker! Way to ruin the moment." I say as I look down, the last part a mumble
"What was that last part Kinsley?" Easton says, tilting my face up, so I look him in the eye, but I won't
"Nothing." I say, shaking away from his grip. Easton just sighs, and we walk into the gym with Ryker trailing behind us.
"Would you like a drink?" Easton asks me, once we're inside the gym.
"Sure." I reply looking around. He jogs off to the refreshments table. Once he's out of sight, I walk over to Ryker, who's only a few feet away. When I get over to him, he looms my way. I put my hand on my hip and give him a glare. "Ryker, what was that?" I say, in a cool tone.
"Jonathan asked me to keep an eye on you, and I don't like that Easton kid very much." Ryker retorts, as he crosses his arms. He almost sounds jealous.
"Well, I'll handle Jonathan. But as for Easton, you can back up. I've known him for only a couple of hours, and he is already an amazing friend." I say, in a matter of fact tone.
"Oh Kinsley. Sweet Kinsley. Just you wait Kinsley Genesis McConnell, he'll betray you sooner or later. I wouldn't get too close to him. I just want to protect you." Ryker says, coming at me like he wants to hug. I take a step back.
"Ryker Grey Hollister, do I detect jealousy in your tone? Because that's what it sounds like." I say acussingly. Ryker tries to hife rhe deel blush and comes upon his face, but fails. "Ha! You are so jealous. But leave me be. Yoh are not my protector, I can protect myself." I say, turning and walking back to the table Easton is now at. "Sorry that took so long. Ryker was being jealous and overprotective. But thank you for the drink." I explain to Easron, who lookes slightly ticked off. Relief floods his face.
"Oh, ok. Just making sure you weren't gonna like abandon me." Easton says, trying to joke around, but I can since a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Hey, I would never abandon someone I care about. Its a dance, so lets go!" Suddenly, a slow song comes on. Easton tries dodging my gaze, but I tilt his face up so his eyes meet mine. "What's wrong?" I ask him, my face full of concern.
"I, uh, umm, kinda, sorta don't know how to dance." Easton mumbles, obviously embarrassed.
"Don't worry. I'll teach you." I tell him, winking flirtatiously. He blushes, and I lead him out on the dance floor. After the song ends, Easton leans closer to me. "Hey are you ready to g-" I start to say, but Easton cuts me off by pressing his lips to mine. When we break away, I look at him eith an eyebrow raised. "That was an unusual way to shut me up." I say, crossing my arms.
"Could I spend the night at your house tonight since it's Friday?" Easton asks, turning his green orbs into sad puppy eyes.
"Sure. My brother and mom are gone, so it'll be just us." I say, as we walk towards the exit. Right before I go through the doors, I turn around and see Ryker staring at me with a depressing face. I flip him off and walk out. Ryker won't ruin this friendship for me.
