DAVE'S "John" POV:

I cannot believe I pulled this off. Both Rachael and Harry honestly believe that I am Rachael's father. It wasn't that hard to convince them. To convince Rachael, all I had to do was put on her fathers old clothes and take a shower or three. Since Harry has never met me, all I had to do was act like I knew shit.

How could they be so dumb? Do they really think that a man that was arrested for murder would be out of jail in just nine years?

I laugh at my thought and pull into my driveway. I walk into the house and immediately grab a bottle of whiskey.

I've been watching them since they got together, nine months ago. My whole goal here is to get inside there minds and destroy everything.

Which I have already done to a Rachael.

Next, It's Harry's turn.

HARRYS POV:

When I woke up on the floor drenched in vodka two days ago, I noticed that there was mail that was shoved under the door. More than half of it was bills and store coupons. I did however get a Letter from work telling me I am fired for not showing up for a month. The pile also included many sympathy cards for Rachael's death.

Apparently the whole town must have heard because some of the cards came from people I didn't even know.

My grief has gotten better. The vodka washed away some of the pain and I am able to think about Rachael without completely breaking down into tears.

For the last two days I have been working on getting back to my normal self. I've showered and eaten substantial meals. I even got enough strength to go to the store to buy food that I can eat that hasn't expired.

Out of all the days Rachael has been gone, today is the most important day. Today is her funeral.

As I pull up my black dress pants up my legs, I cannot help but think how many people are going to be at the funeral. We have only lived in this town for nine months so we haven't made a ton of friends. And it's not like Rachael will be having her whole family show up here... Her mom is dead and I've never heard her talk about the rest of her family.

I open my dresser to grab a tie and notice the ring, still sitting there. I stare at it for a second. Imagining how good it would look on her. How bright her smile would be every time she looked at her hand. I reach for it and place it in my pocket. If I couldn't give it to her when she was still here with me, then this is the next best time.

***

An hour later i'm pulling into the parking lot of the church. There are a few cars already here and people are making there way inside.

When I get inside, her casket is laying on some sort of plastic table... Wow, real fucking fancy.

I roll my eyes and sit down in a pew. The room is filled with people who must have known Rachael. I am sure that more than half the people here were people that Rachael helped out in some kind of charity or homeless shelter.

"Harry?" a woman's voice asks from beside me. I look up to see one of Rachael's closest friends, Marina. She's always been one of Rachael's favorite friend. They knew each other since before we moved to this town. They both lived a little ways from here back when they where kids. She was really sweet, but had a problem of talking way to much.

She has a half smile on her face when my eyes meet hers. I can tell shes been crying a ton. Her eyes are practically colorless. I smile back and say hello.
