Chapter Two

Alpha James Stanley stood in front of me, tall and demanding. He was 6"2 with big muscular arms, he was a presence you couldn't ignore. His Alpha scent very suffocating in this small room, he seems to be angry. His brown eyes narrowed at a piece of paper in his tanned hands, one of those hands went through his bushy brown beard.

Beta Nick Grey was sitting next to him at the table that was situated in the middle of the room. He looked like a typical surfer guy with his shaggy dirty blonde hair and tanned skin with dark blue eyes. He was the same height and build as the Alpha, but he wasn't as demanding, his scent not as strong or dominating. Even though they are the same build he looks smaller compared to the Alpha.

I strolled in shutting the big door behind me, "What is that?" I asked looking at the piece of paper the Alpha was so interested in.

Nick answered me, "The reason James called us in, wolves have been grouping again attacking packs and gaining territories." He stopped and looked at James waiting for him to continue.

It was a stiff response he barely moved his lips. "They have not yet reached our country, but their patterns indicate that they will start coming for these packs," He pointed to a map behind me where there were different coloured pins, "They will not hit for at least a few more months,"

I studied the map closely, if James was right we would be one of the last packs they would attack. We have no need to worry if that is the case, their wolves would be injured or killed with the battles before they reach our pack. They would be weak.

As if sensing my thoughts, "We have no need to worry, our pack is safe, but the surrounding packs are getting worried. Our neighbour pack is requesting assistance with training and to lend any warriors to help them." Nick said scratching the stubble on his cheek.

"Which neighbour?"

"White Rock." James answered.

White rock was to our west, our borders touched making them a neighbouring pack. They were a weak and were sad excuses for wolves. They never trained, their Alpha was fat and lazy with power. That pack thought they were never going to get attacked being next to us, one of the strongest packs in the country, if not the strongest.

My beast grumbled through me at the thought of wasting any resources on a pack that could not defend themselves. "They brought this among themselves, it is not our problem." I said through stiff lips.

Nick sighed, "Yes we know your thoughts on this pack, but it is our duty to help those that need it."

I glared at him not liking the idea of possibly endangering my warriors because a pack was too lazy to train themselves. Their Master of Arms went on holidays for gods sakes! "The warriors lives are my responsibility, I am not willing to let them get harmed for that pack." I growled through clenched teeth.

James put the paper down putting a tanned hand through his shaven head, he was stressed. "I agree with you Zora, but it is out of our hands, we have a treaty with most of the packs in this country. If they require assistance, we are obligated to help."

I turned my glare on him which only made him angry he stalked towards me ending up only a few centimetres from my face, "You cannot intimidate me Zora! I am your Alpha what I say we do." He roared his hot breath hitting my nose.
