It was a beautiful sunrise in the world of Pokémon. As the sun was rising, groups of bird Pokémon were soaring through the sky. They featured many bird Pokémon. Including Starly, Fletchinder, and Ducklett. More and more wild Pokémon were waking up and glancing the sunrise. Some hid into tall grass. Spinnrak were climbing trees. A Caterpie hid into a small hole, just narrowly escaping a hungry Mandibuzz. All was well that morning. The sun rose over Canalave City in the Sinnoh region. And a young Veteran Trainer by the name of Jacob was getting ready to begin a special with his Pokémon. He had a team of 6, the maximum amount of Pokémon a trainer could take at a time. Jacob had been to several regions before and defeated the Pokémon Leauge, a tournament between the strongest trainers of that region, in each region. He walked across his town, saying hello to his neighbors and finally reaching Canalaves Pokémon Gym. Jacob felt a bit of nostalgia over this gym due to it being the first gym he had ever recieved a badge from... and also the place where he had recived his first Pokémon. Jacob walked casually into the gym to say hello to its leader; Byron. "Hey Byron!" he shouted. "You here?" It was silent for a few moments then a rather middle-aged man came through a door. "Jacob!" He said, "It's been so long since I've seen you!" He cleared his throat then said "So, what brings you to my gym?" Jacob looked at the man without a second thought. "Well," he said, pulling out a Pokéball from his pocket, then enlarging it. "How about a rematch? For fun. You know its been 3 years." Byron smiled at Jacob and took out his own Pokéball. "Alright" he said. Byron enlarged his own Pokéball. "This will be a one-on-one match! The last Pokémon standing will be the winner!" They proceded to the Gyms battlefield and got to their respective sides. Challenger on one side, Gym leader on the other. "Alright!" Byron said. "I, Byron, will take your challenge!" Jacob was pumped. Byron was one of his many mentors. He grew up in Canalave knowing Byron. He was the one who got Jacob intrested in Pokémon. And Jacob was ready for a rematch. More than ready... "Go! Aegislash!" He shouted, tossing his Pokéball into the air. The Pokéball began to shoot a white beam out of it, which formed into a Pokémon that resembled a sword. The Aegislash Jacob had sent out was no more than five feet tall. He was gold in color except for the silver going down on his sides. Two black and purple flat arms had stretched out from near the top of him almost to the bottom of his body. Aegislash was carrying a gold and bronze shield in front of him representing that he was in Shield Forme. He had one purple eye with a white slit in the middle near the top of his head. Aegislash was ready to fight. "Aegislash!" Jacob said, "Lets make this a battle to be proud of!" Aegislash nodded and got pumped. "So Byron!" Jacob asked, "Who will you send out?" Byron replied by saying "I think you already know." And Byron threw his Pokéball into the air. The Pokéball emitted a white light like the Ball that sent out Aegislash. Only what was coming out wasn't another Aegislash. It was a Bastiodon. He was four feet tall with a head resembling a shield with three dark grey spikes at the top of his head. The quadruped was grey at the front and more yellowish at the back. It had small, greyish spikes going across his back. And with a face as hard as a shield, it was certain that Bastiodon was a defensive Pokémon Bastiodon was as pumped as Aegislash was. And both Pokemon trainers weren't going to hold back. Jacob made the move first. "Aegislash! Switch to Blade Forme and use Shadow Sneak!" Aegislash did as he was told, removing his shield and beginning to use his spectral power, extending his shadow behind Bastiodon, who was unfortunately vulnerable from behind. The shadow hit Bastiodon hard. Byron got ready for his attack. "You can take it Bastiodon! Use Iron Head!" Bastiodon charged. Jacob reacted in a calm manner. "Aegislash. Kings Shield." Aegislash withdrew from an offensive stance and pulled up his shield, which was virtually unbreakable. Bastiodon rammed right into the shield and a loud metal BANG was heard. Bastiodon fell backwards and then- "Alright!" Jacob shouted "Give it all you got and use Sacred Sword!" Aegislash swung himself into Bastiodon but just before he was about to make impact- "Counter with flamethrower!" Byron shouted. Aegislash wasn't quick enough to dodge the flamethrower, and the blast of hot flames hit the Royal Sword Pokémon, causing him to take super effective damage. But Aegislash wouldnt give in, he kept going with his Sacred Sword. Landing the hit on Bastiodon. Dealing supereffective damage to Bastiodon as well. He fell to the floor. And the battle was won. "Good job Aegislash!" Jacob smiled proudly at the Royal Sword and held up his Pokéball. "Return!" The Pokéball shot a red beam of light at Aegislash, who then became that energy, which was absorbed back into the Pokéball. Jacob walked over to Byron. "You did great, Bastiodon." said Byron. He held up his Pokéball and returned his fainted partner to his Pokéball as well. He turned to Jacob and said "You've gotten stronger since the last time I saw you." "I'm going to have to train more to take on tough trainers like you, Jacob!"Jacob nodded and said farewell before leaving the gym. Only to notice a giant, dark, sinister cloud in the sky, covering the sun and began to storm."What the-?" Jacob said. Suddenly, an earthquake shook the ground. He darted to the nearest Pokémon Center. What was going on? Why was this happening?
