Exploring Beacon (1/2)

"Please follow me this way to your team dorm," Professor Ozpin says. Aubree smiles at Riley as they all follow Ozpin. They go up a couple sets of stairs and find some other dorms along the way. "Wow, there are so many people here," Carter whispers. "It's kind of overwhelming in a way," Oliver adds, whispering back. The four of them come to a stop and reach their dorm. "If you have any questions, please come up to the very top floor to ask me," Professor Ozpin says, leaving. "Will do," Aubree says. They all head to their dorm and decide to unpack. "Let's explore the campus tomorrow, I'm too tired to move," Carter says. "Yeah same here, I'm exhausted for walking so much," Riley adds. "Why don't we go sit and get something to eat?" Oliver asks, insisting on what they can do. Aubree nods her head in agreement. They all change into some neater clothes and try to find the cafeteria.

They all search around the first floor of the building until they eventually give up on looking. "Let's find another person who may know where it is," Carter says. Everyone agrees and they all keep walking in one direction. A couple minutes later, they find someone. "Excuse me. Hi, my name's Aubree and my team and I are new here. Do you think you can point us to the cafeteria?" Aubree asks nicely. "Sure thing, just follow me, it's not that far from where we're standing," the boy replies. The boy leads them down to the cafeteria. "Aubree! What are you doing?! We can't trust that guy!" Riley whispers. "Calm down Riley. It'll be fine," Aubree whispers back. Riley's hands start shaking as she follows with the rest of them. "So what's your name?" Oliver asks the boy. "Mercury. Mercury Black," he responds. "Nice to meet you, Mercury. I'm Carter," Carter says introducing himself. "I'm Oliver, that's Riley and that's Aubree," Oliver says introducing himself and pointing to Riley and Aubree. "Nice to meet you all," Mercury smiles. After introducing himself, Mercury guides them to the cafeteria and leaves right away. "Oh ho ho, Cinder's gonna be happy after she hears this," Mercury thinks to himself.

"I didn't like him, he seemed sketchy and mysterious," Riley says. "I think he was very nice," Aubree says. "I'm sure he's a good guy," Carter adds. They all take their orders and talk about what they want to see at Beacon, and recapping their journey. Riley excuses herself from the table and pulls Aubree with her to the girl's restroom. "You feeling okay? You're all stressed out and quiet. What's going on?" Aubree asks. "I didn't like that guy. He was so suspicious, and he looked overjoyed when he left," Riley says. "Riley, don't be ridiculous. He was kind enough to get us here in the first place. Prove to me why you think he's strange," Aubree says, putting a little pressure on her. "I don't know for sure Aubree. He just sets off the wrong vibe for me," Riley says. "Maybe you're fatigued and can't focus. Come on, the boys just texted us saying our lunch's served," Aubree smiles, trying to change the subject. "I am focused Aubree, I'm fine. Run all the tests you want when we get back," Riley says. The girls walked out of the girl's restroom and eat their food. "You girls okay?" Oliver asks. "Yeah what was going on?" Carter asks. "I'll tell you when we get back," Riley says. "Suit yourself," Carter says. They chow down most of their food. "What did you guys order?" Aubree asks. "I think we all got the same thing. Some bacon cheeseburgers and some fries," Carter says. "Oh yep, we all did," Oliver says. They keep eating and laughing as it turns to 2:00 pm. "Oh gosh, we should head back," Riley says. "That sounds good," Aubree says. They all leave the cafeteria and retrace their steps back to their dorm. 

Aubree quickly gets out some tools to test Riley. "I wasn't kidding when you mentioned that to me," Aubree winks. "Whatever, Aubree. I know I'm fine, I promise," Riley replies. "Aubree, why are you doing this?" Carter asks. "She pulled me into the girl's restroom so she could tell me her opinion on Mercury," Aubree answers. "What'd you say about him, Riley?" Oliver asks. "I said he set off the wrong vibe for me. And when he left, he looked overjoyed about something," Riley says. "Do you think you were fatigued?" Carter asks. "That's what I said!" Aubree says. "No, I'm not fatigued!" Riley says. "Let's see if this test proves it," Aubree says. The boys watch from afar as Aubree does some finger and light movements. "Alright, follow your eyes with this light," Aubree says. Riley follows Aubree's light for a while. "That seems fine. Well, I guess you're not fatigued," Aubree concludes. "I think she spoke the truth," Oliver interprets. "I'd never lie to you!" Riley adds. "Good point," Carter says. The four of them chat in their dorm long into the night, unpacking a bit more before heading off to sleep. "I haven't slept in a comfortable bed in years!" Oliver says. "Right?! It feels so warm!" Aubree says. They get all comfortable and turn off their lamps. "Let's all sleep well so we can explore tomorrow okay? School and classes don't start until next week or so. Plenty of time to explore the campus," Riley says. They all nod goodnight and fall asleep.

Mercury gets back to the dorm. "Where's Cinder?" Mercury asks. "She went somewhere with Roman to get information on the White Fang (an organization for the Faunus that has turned evil) or something," Emerald replies. "When will she return?" Mercury asks. "I think she said around 9:30," Emerald replies. "Alright, well I want to tell her something," Mercury says. "And what that might be?" Emerald asks, a little paranoid. "I ran into a new team here at the school. They asked me to point them to the cafeteria, so I did. While we were walking, we all introduced ourselves and then I left," Mercury explains. Cinder returns to her dorm a couple minutes later. "Hey Mercury, have something you want to tell me?" Cinder asks. "Yes I do a matter of fact," Mercury replies. Mercury tells Cinder what happened and that he saw Team ACRO. "Oooh, interesting. If we get our hands on those kids, we'd be unstoppable!" Cinder shouts. "How would we do that?" Emerald asks. "That I'll have to think over. Now go ahead and get some rest, we'll talk in the morning," Cinder says. Mercury and Emerald also head off to sleep, as their plan for getting Team ACRO on their side arises.
