For the longest time, all I could see was darkness. All I could feel was darkness. All I knew was darkness. Then, there was light.

My eyes fluttered open. I sat up. Someone had put me in some sort of bed made of wool. I tried to think of who it could be, but no-one came to mind.

"Your awake!" A calm but deep voice said, startling me. I looked over and saw an elderly man dressed in white robes. "What is your name, boy?" The man asked.

I thought for a second, but suddenly, a name came in mind. "I'm not sure." I told him. "But I think it's Riley."

The man smiled. "I'm Father Kneal. I run this small church. Your green haired friend told me to take care of you until you woke. She also said to meet her near the edge of the forest."

I look at him, confused. "Green haired girl? I don't know anyone like that." I sighed. He began laughing. "Of course you dont." He stood up. "Follow me. I'll give you a bag and some food" I sighed and smiled. "Thank you sir."

About half an hour later I stepped out the door. I decided to explore this new place in. I hoped that I would find the girl and see who she is and why she needed me.

I wandered for around twenty minutes. I met a few pretty interesting people. One claimed to be a potion master. I just nodded. Potions aren't real. Another was a sword fighter. He had some fancy moves, but I doubted they'd work in an actual fight.

Then there was this strange guy. He seemed to stick out like a sore thumb. Instead of wearing brown, handmade looking clothes like everyone else, he was wearing black. A black leather jacket, black pants, black shoes, and even had black hair. I glanced at him, but he noticed.

"You there!" He said, pointing at me. "I challenge you to a duel. Sword versus sword. We shall fight till one is dead."

I looked at him as if he was crazy. "I don't dual." I said, hoping to back out of the situation. "I don't even have a sword!"

He smirked, and threw a black belt at me, with a sword holster on it. I put it on and pulled out the sword. It stunned me for a moment. I expected it to be pure black, but it was the opposite. It was white, even the blade was, with a red gem in the middle of the hilt.

"Cool" I said. "Can I keep it?" He scoffed in reply. "You may, if you survive this encounter."

I frowned. We both knew he was going to kill me. He pulled out his own sword, similar to mine, but it was black, with a blue gem in the middle.

"Sister swords" he said. Freitneir and Olgantash. Made by Lu'um and Shaedis respectively." He stepped forward, but before he could strike, the sword flew out of his hand.

"Stop this Drew!" An angry, yet soft voice said. I looked behind and saw a green haired girl. Maybe she's the one I was told to look for. "You should know as well as anyone that he is not trained yet. He does not know the ways of this world. Didn't you see him appear with your own two eyes?"

Drew sighed. "Jasmine, I would not have killed him. I was just going to test his potential!"He screamed. He grabbed his sword from the ground and slashed toward the girl. She held up her hand to protect herself, and the sword flew back.

"Chosens must not harm eachother." She said, as if trying to remind him. "And you are not allowed to duel. Not after what happened with Cassie. If I remember right, you had scars for months."

I looked as Jasmine and smiled. She didn't smile back. I walked over to her. "Your the one in supposed to find? Right?" She facepalms. "Yes. I was expecting you to head straight, not going around picking fights!"

I frowned at her. "I didn't pick a fight! He did!" She shook her head. "I don't care who started it. I just care about you coming with me. Now come." She began to run away from me.

I follow her, running as fast as I can. "Where are you going!" I ask her. She sighs. "I've set up a camp for us. Apparently you need a babysitter, and no-one else would do it."

I frown. "I don't need a baby sitter, I'm nearly an adult!" She laughs. "I'm protecting you. Drew back there isn't the worst we will run into."
