Chapter 1

Ciara's POV

"Joseph?" I asked. He smirked and kneeled in front of me.

"Did you miss me?" He said before slapping me hard.

"She didn't do anything Joseph! Don't be hitting her!" Vanessa snapped and pushed him back.

"You are so fragile with other people Vanessa! Why do you even defend her?! Don't you remember she broke my heart?!" He screamed at her.

"No she didn't Joseph! You broke her's! You abused and raped her! You need to stop thinking about just yourself! She is not staying in this basement! She is going to live with me in my room!" Vanessa snapped at him.

"Fine. But if I hear anything come out of her mouth it's on both of you!" He screamed before walking up some stairs. A door opened and slammed shut.

"Come on. I'll help you to the room." Vanessa said. She walked over and untied me. I got up but felt sick so I threw up.

"Why are you throwing up? Have a bad breakfast?" She asked. I chuckled lightly and shook my head.

"No. I have morning sickness. I'm pregnant." I said. She smiled, looking at my stomach in awe.

"Come on. Dinner will be ready in a little while. You know. He is actually nicer. He is just mad right now. If you ever get to meet his new girlfriend you will see why he is nicer. You should thank her." Vanessa said.

"Why does he want me if he has her?" I asked. We started walking up the stairs and opened the door.

"Because he still loves you, as he calls it. I don't think he loves you though. Her name is Skylar. She's coming today. She'll be here in a little while. You cannot say that you got kidnapped. If you do Joseph will beat you. Come on." She whispered. We walked up a spiral stair case and entered a room.

"This is your bed and that one is mine." Vanessa said. There was a bunk bed so I'm sleeping on the bottom.

"Where are my clothes?"

"They're in the drawers on the right. Your side of the room is on the right and mine is on the left okay? You get your own walk in closet." She said. I changed into sweats and a hoodie then put my hair into a messy bun.

*ding dong*

"She's here. Just say you're our... Cousin." Vanessa said. I followed her down the stairs and found Joseph kissing a girl.

"Hey Skylar. Ciara, this is Skylar. Skylar, this is Ciara." She said. I shook Skylar's hand.

"Lets eat." Skylar said and we all laughed.

"So who are you exactly?" Skylar asked me.

"I'm Vanessa and Joseph's cousin. They adopted me for a while until I get my own home." I said. Joseph tensed up at my response but Skylar nodded.

"How have you been? It's been a while..." Vanessa asked. Skylar and Vanessa made small talk while I ate my food peacefully.

"If you act up I will pound you harder than you think." Joseph whispered to me. I froze in the middle of eating my spaghetti and looked at him.

"What makes you think I'll act up?" I asked. He shrugged and laughed. Not a natural laugh, more like a forced one. I laughed along.

"Why are you two laughing?" Skylar asked.

"'Cause I told him one of my cheesy pick up lines." I responded.

"Tell me one." Skylar said.

"Ummm... Are you a parking ticket? Because I see fine written all over you." I said. Everyone laughed.

"Excuse me miss. Can you touch my arm so I can tell my friends that I have been touched by an angel?" They laughed some more.

"If you were a booger I'd pick you first." Vanessa said. We started laughing.

"My love for you is like diarrhea, I can't hold it in." I said. We kept going with the pick up lines before Skylar had to leave.

"I'll do the dishes." I said.

"I'll dry them." Vanessa said. I washed the dishes and she dried and stacked them. We walked upstairs and I lied down on my bed.

"I'll be right back." Vanessa said before leaving. I got up and changed into shorts and a tank top before lying down again.

"Hey Vanessa. Do you think you could lower the temperature? It's kind of hot." I said to the person that walked in. I looked up but got my body pinned onto the bed.

"Aw. You missed me." Joseph said. He started kissing my neck and I tried punching him. He grinded his hips into mine then latched his mouth onto mine.

"Get off." I tried to say but he spanked my bum. He lifted my shirt up and started pinching my skin.

"Stop." I tried to say again but he spanked me again. He lowered my shorts then lowered his pants.

"Get off her Joseph!" I heard Vanessa scream. He got up and pulled his pants up.

"Shut up Vanessa. You're not always gonna be there for her. And she should get used to me now. She won't get any rest." He said coldly.

"You can't have sex with her because she's pregnant." Vanessa said before placing her hands over her mouth.

"Ciara." Joseph said. He turned around and I covered myself up. He walked over and pulled the blanket off of me.

"You're pregnant. Who's is it?" He said. I looked away and didn't answer.

"Tell me who's it is." He said a little louder before slapping me.

"Harry's." I said. He got up and punched the wall.

"Does he know?" I shook my head at Vanessa's question.

"Why?"

"Because when Joseph made him go down the hill he forgot about me, you, him, my family. Why do you even want me Joseph? If it's for sexual pleasure, I'm not going to give it to you because of this bun in the oven. You have Skylar. Why do you need me?" I asked.

"Because I'm in love with you. It isn't for sexual reasons though. Skylar is great and all but you are the best of the best."

"But can't you see that she was having a good life without you? You hurt her Joseph. If you hadn't hurt her I think she could have loved you back. But you have hurt too many people for too long so there is no way you could change now." Vanessa said. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair.

"Go to sleep. I'm not in the mood to talk anymore." Joseph said before leaving.
