Chapter 23

Aaron's POV

"Aaron. Aaron?" I heard someone whisper. I looked around and felt a pounding in my head. I looked up and found my mom and dad in front of me.

"Mom? Dad?" I asked. They smiled and hugged me.

"What happened to you?" My dad asked.

"I was looking for Ciara and found the hotel she was at. I walked to a restaurant near by and got beat up when I walked out. The guys stole my money, shoes and necklace. I made my way to Ciara's room and fell when she opened the door." I explained.

"You need to wake up Aaron." My mom asked.

"Why?" I asked.

"Ciara and Jessica need you. You are the only family those two have. And right now Ciara is having problems that you can help her with." My dad explained.

"How am I supposed to wake up?" I asked.

"You're body is basically asleep. Move your body and make yourself wake up." My dad answered.

"We love you three very much." My mom smiled. She walked over and kissed my forehead, my dad doing the same.

"Is there anything you want me to tell Jessica and Ciara?" I asked.

"Tell Jessica that we love her very much. And tell Ciara that Harry was never going to leave. She'll understand." My mom nodded. I closed my eyes and moved my body. My body slowly started becoming numb and my breathing was shaky.

I inhaled deeply as I looked around the room. I'm in a hospital. I looked at the counter and found a half eaten macadamia nut cookie and partly drunken milk. I reached over and grabbed the two before placing the empty carton of milk on the counter. I burped and winced. I looked forward and found Ciara asleep on the chair. Her eyes puffy and her nose red.

"Ciara?" I asked, my voice coming out raspy and dry.

"Ciara?" I asked a little louder. She didn't wake up so I left her alone.

I looked down and grabbed Ciara's iPod. I clicked the camera button. I flipped the screen and looked at myself. Bruises and cuts were all over my face. A bloody bandage was wrapped around my head and a cut peeked out from under it. I looked down at my hand and sighed.

I unlocked her phone and scrolled through the music. One last time by Ariana Grande. I pressed play and listened to it. Ciara opened her eyes slightly and looked around the room. She laid her eyes on me and they went wide.

"Aaron!" She squealed. She stood up and hugged me, a bump surprising me on my side. I looked down and touched it.

"Are you pregnant?" I asked. Ciara nodded and lifted her shirt.

"It's Harry's if you were just about to ask." Ciara added. She smiled but sorrow was in her eyes.

"You two fought." I stated, she nodded in response. She explained everything I missed and let me sing to her babies.

Twins... Who knew? Well... Everyone actually.

"And now I'm here with you." She smiled.

"So Joseph isn't the bad guy?" I asked.

"I honestly don't think so. But I think he's scared of someone else." Ciara said in thought.

"Well either way, he didn't hurt me. Or kill mom. Or hurt Harry, Niall and Louis." I said.

"Yeah." She drifted off.

"You should get some sleep. We'll talk in the morning." I smiled. She nodded and sat in the chair, soon falling asleep. I pressed a button and a nurse came by a few minutes later.

"Nice to see you awake Mr. Corpus. How do you feel?" The nurse asked.

"Great. I do have a question though. When can I get out of here and can you let my sister here have a scan on her stomach? She's pregnant." I smiled.

"I will talk to the doctor to see when you can get out. I will also ask him to do the ultrasound." The nurse said.

"Thank you ma'am." I smiled before she left. I grabbed Ciara's phone and earphones before playing One Last Time again. The nurse came back with food and water for both Ciara and I.

"The doctor said that you can leave today, if your sister signs you out of course. As for her, he will get a female doctor to do the ultrasound right after she wakes up and eats." She said before leaving. I grabbed my slice of sandwich and ate it. Ciara moved around and sighed.

"I don't feel good." She said.

"Eat something then." I stated, motioning the other sandwich to her. She took it and ate it quietly in her seat. She grabbed a water bottle and drank from it before standing.

"I'll be back in a little while. Don't cause any problems." Ciara said pointedly. I sighed and rolled my eyes before nodding.
